I never have trouble remembering that day. What a tremendous yellow when you only have fruit the whole day, even though we were both very hungry; but we had to meet our friend and we thought it would be more appropriate to do so on an empty stomach. All along the way the fruit had been picked from the lower branches, so we had to search for trees that were hidden and out of the way, but we said nothing. Was it sadness or perhaps nostalgia? Yes, we had gotten letters saying that he was insane, that he was hospitalized down in the foothills... When I recall the color yellow, I don’t just remember the scarcely clouded sky, I have these things in mind. You’re, to my eyes, utter confidence in what we were doing. He is sick. Didn’t want to arrive exhausted to have him draw his lips to chew, mmm, but you took initiative and we didn’t even pack food.
