Bands that rock out, look good and make you wanna shake what your Mother gave ya...
Sounds Like
Hard-Fi, The Cribs, Phoenix, The Strokes, The Killers, the Bravery, Gnarls Barkley, Taking Back Sunday, Nirvana, Ryan Adams, Green Day, OKGO, Phantom Planet, Kings of Leon and anybody else that makes us move.
After playing in several successful local bands in the music capital of the world, including the seminal pop-rock band - TWO GUY TRIO - these five friends came together to do something faster, crazier and more heartfelt than any previous project before.
Good Luck Academy's music has been on the scene since last New Year's and has been slowly sweeping the state one venue at a time. Since their first show at the renowned hipster hang out, the Beauty Bar in Austin, GLA has played all over their home state and beyond.
The band's infectious brand of power pop-rock quickly brings in listeners of any age and gets them to dance with reckless Rock-n-Roll abandon. The lyrics that accompany their catchy hooks deal with pain, hope, booze and love. It seems that GLA has a story for anyone who’s ever put it all out there and aimed for the stars.
The recently released new album, The Fall Semester, is a small but fierce EP packed with seven diverse and memorable tracks and is now available on iTunes. The artwork for the record was shot in a glamorous mansion once used for Playboy photo shoots.
After a year of honing their craft and making an unforgettable album, GLA are ready to take the world by storm and see their dream grow. Look for shows in Texas and California in '09 as the band branches out across the country and a follow-up EP due out next summer.
Until then, enjoy GLA's tales woven with lessons and love and check back to their official Myspace page for updates, pictures, and tour info.
