GMR started in January 1997 as the Pillsbury Buddhas with Jacob Pete, Josh Hagen, Mark Brand and Matt Quay. Later becoming Pills Bury Buddhas, The Booduhs, Alkutezio, then finally Good Morning Reality in April 2000.
Mark left in April 1997 and garrrr joined, Matt left in Summer May 1997, Bobby joined Summer 1997.
Without a drummer JP and garrrr started to play drums until Josh quit midshow in April 1999 and Scott Monaghan became the drummer. "Nothing Lasts Forever" was recorded Summer 1999, after Winter hiatus the band returned in April 2000 with a new drummer named Justin, who lasted about half a show when he was kicked out and Scott returned to complete the show.
Scott later left again in mid April and Mike DeMarco joined up. In late 2000 GMR opened for Midtown, Dashboard Confessional and The Movielife. In 2001 "There They Are, Arrest Them All" was recorded, then "The Wrecking Ball" EP. Bobby left for Egypt with the Army and JP, garrrr and Mike recorded "Kill This. Save Parts." in September 2001.
Upon returning from Egypt, Bobby rejoined and the 4 wrote a couple new songs and played a ton of killer shows including shows with Dashboard Confessional, Movielife, Midtown, Moneen, Drowningman, Vaux (then called Eiffel), Amanda Rogers, If Hope Dies, Home Grown, Finch, Fairmont, Kid Brother Collective and It Dies Today.
On Father's Day June 16th, 2002 the news arrived that JP had tragically passed away... So on June 29th, Bobby, garrrr and Mike played one final song "The Sweetest Dilemma" to an audience of hundreds singing along and put GMR to rest with Jake...
I miss you... everyday... always. I have a love/hate relationship with the sound of your voice when I hit up this page. -Makes me so happy but hurts so bad.

Good Morning Reality Shift through this dream with all your love, release the pain and let time heal, Love will always remain. For those you have touched more were waiting, embraised by a beautiful soul gone too soon your show was not over it had just begun. Love Reality has hit Good Morning Reality*
words can't express the impact that this band and these people have had on the past 6 years of my life. Pretty much who i am and what i've done these past few years is all credited to this band. Strange as it may sound, its very true.
WE'RE LOOKING FOR OUR NEXT DRUMMER AND OUR NEXT BASSIST! IF YOU DON'T PLAY EITHER, AND YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO DOES, TELL THEM TO CHECK OUT OUR BLOG FOR DETAILS...
