    I adore books and I think I may be addicted to them. I will ignore everything else around me until I finish the book I'm reading. My whole house could crumble around me and I'd keep reading while grumbling about the noise.


    I simply do not understand people who don't read. I like them okay; I just don't understand them...

    I think The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is one of the funniest books ever written and if you haven't read it, you definitely should.


    I think good books come back to you. If you give a book away, it will turn up in your life later when it is time for you to read it again. That's only one of the reasons that books are the closest thing to magic that I know. I'm one of those crazy people who actually looks through the boxes of books people have at garage sales.


    Favorite Authors:Douglas Adams, William Faulkner, Jay McInerney, Hunter S. Thompson, Anne Tyler, Stephanie Meyer, Ray Bradbury, Lemony Snickett, Terry Pratchett, Elizabeth Berg, Lorna Landvik, and any sort of cookbook at all.

About me:

I like soft sheets and crunchy foods (not at the same time, obviously). I couldn't keep something clean if my life depended on it. I trip over my own feet and get food stains on my shirt all while attempting to maintain an illusion of decorum and class.


Most of the time I don't know what I'm doing but I like people to think that I am. Sometimes I suspect that people don't like me and I'm not really sure why but I don't know that I care enough to find out.


I know how many feet are in a mile. I know enough html to get by. I know the proper technique for crackle painting. Actually, I know a great number of things that may never be useful to me but it makes me feel good to know things. If there is something I don't know, I usually need to find out as soon as possible because it will plague me until I do. I don't accept "I don't know" as an answer and I don't like to give it as one, either.


I like bright colors. I like to put my hair in pigtails. I like silver jewelry and gerber daisies. I love my three kids more than I ever knew I could love anything. I also love cheese. Cheese is awesome. I have a tendency to ramble. I like to eat but I worry about being fat. Boots! I can't resist a pair of boots on clearance. I have two cats and I hate them because they won't stop pooping but they snuggle with me in the mornings so I forgive them.


I cook things like mushroom risotto and pecan blondies from scratch but sometimes I just order pizza. I spend a lot of money on organizers and cleaning supplies but my house is still a mess. I'm an accountant who doesn't balance her checkbook. I don't follow politics much. My dad was a preacher but I'm not a fan of religion. I hate my hair.


I like iced coffee and hot tea. I don't like sugar in my beverages. I try to be ecologically responsible so I never throw anything away. I love music. I play the piano and the flute. I'd like to play the guitar, but it hurts my fingers and I have a low threshold for pain (in most situations). I like to be around people sometimes but I'm also kind of anti-social. I only have like two really good friends that I know "in real life". I honestly don't know why anyone would want to know all this stuff about me, but maybe it helps explain my behavior sometimes. My refrigerator is making a funny noise.
