Goodnight Streetlight is an experimental electronic pop project based in Vancouver, British Columbia, mostly concocted by me (raoul fernandes) with occasional help from friends. It has evolved from a playful low-fi jumble to a more assured, melodic and layered sound. Influences range from Aphex Twin to Sparklehorse to some of Radiohead’s more laptop-y stuff; yet remains in a distinct world of its own. File it under dreamy electronica as long as those dreams also include the fever dreams of waking up as an insect, or being chased by geometrical shapes through a meadow.
The Curfew Bell is my latest full-length release and can be ordered / previewed at cdbaby.com by clicking the cover below

.. Hi there goodnight streetlight first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people you can click the link below to visit our profile which wlil provide you with more information and also give you the link to our website! I wish you the best of luck in your music career. Thanks again for being our myspace pal.
i don't know if i told you about this, but a while back i listened to mother mother after seeing them on yr myspace and they made me supersmiley. so thanks, raouly.
p.s. when the poems are taken you're the poem still left
Raoul, I love the music!!! I remember sitting with Aarti and drunkenly talking of probabilities and faith... hopefully she wasn't bored. I try and avoid talking about these things at parties, but as you can tell they are usually on my mind :). We should get together sometime soon, maybe next weekend?
Raoul, your music is divine. U got a hardened head starting to feel beyond the finger tips. If you died I'd dig you up and bring you back for one last kintata. we are each others elsewhere. peace.
hey there I finally have my first proper record out this week, on girlfriend records in the uk. after a long wait, u can finally get albinos music of your own, beautifully packaged with photos from the terribly talented mr. antoine mouton.
check it out at www.selectadisc.co.uk, and search for sketches for albinos...then u will find it
when i was talking about your poem this evening i said to my roommate "it just made me go like, 'dear raoul fernandes, will you marry me? love, marina.'" and farren thought i said the name of a publishing tycoon, so she said "why do you want to marry a publishing tycoon?" and i said, "so that he can publish raoul fernandes."
What's up Raoul... isn't that MY old Casio keyboard that I loaned to the occupants of the good ol Redneck Ranch? Even so, keep it, it is going to way better use in your hands. Cool music Brother!!!
