Based in Melbourne, Goodnight Thomas spent most of 2007 and 2008 playing venues and festivals around Melbourne and Victoria, sharing the stage with musicians like Tim Rogers, Cecil Corbel (France), Mike Compton (USA) and Tim McMillan. The EP ‘Close’ received great support from community radio stations like 3RRR and PBS and paved the way for other collaborations beyond Goodnight Thomas, and a small South-West tour of the USA in late 2008.
Nick's unique vocal often drew comparisons to people like Donovan, Thom Yorke, Garfunkle and Chris Martin, and the soothing rhythms of the band's musicians were always well received.
In 2009, Nick decided to give Goodnight Thomas a rest and focus on another project, Nik Lone.
