I live in Glasgow, Scotland, but love to travel, especially to the USA. Philadelphia and New York City are my favourite places; I've been to both cities several times, and try to get to the USA twice a year if I can. Would love to live in the US one day but it's not that easy unfortunately. Anyone got a Green Card they don't need??
I love live music and can be found at gigs as often as possible. So if there's anything good around Glasgow let me know. Most of my favourite bands are American so I don't get to see them as often as I would like. But some of them do tour over here from time to time. Check out Marah - the best live band out there!
I also love Bruce, seen him live so many times. And Maybe Pete, a great New Jersey band. I like a bit of southern rock too: Drive By Truckers, Lucero, etc.
I'm a massive sports fan, especially football or soccer for you Americans (Celtic are the champions of Scotland yet again - three in a row, baby!), the NFL and lately baseball after attending my first game in Philadelphia. Go Phillies - the World Series Champions!!
I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder last summer, and I'm coming to terms with that slowly. There are some great support groups on MySpace so come join in and chat. I have also been sober since April 2007 and am trying hard to stay that way!! It's not easy but I've made it through almost two years.
I finished writing my first novel at the end of 2007. "A Manhattan Odyssey" is a fictionalised account of my visit to the USA last year which started as a two week trip and somehow became a three month magical mystery tour ending in a secure psychiatric unit in NYC!
Novel number 2 is my first attempt at writing a purely fictional book and I finished it in May 2008. "The Lion's den" is a psychological thriller that examines how an ordinary man copes with extraordinary circumstances including the sudden death of his parents. Then when his boss is murdered he finds himself dragged into a murky world of drug dealers and fraudsters.
Novel number number 3 is now finished. "Calling Cards" is another thriller and involves two estranged brothers, a journalist and a politician, both of whom have their problems. Political intrique brings them back together, but blackmail and murder are in the air. And when they become involved in the hunt for a serial killer, things get very interesting!
And I'm now almost finished number 4, another thriller as yet untitled.
Are there any publishers in the house?
People who are honest and sincere. People who love live music as much as I do. People who love to party. People who can make me laugh. People who are fun to hang with. Fellow sufferers of bipolar disorder.
Anyone who wants to chat and have a good time. Just drop me a mesage or give me a call!
