Pedal Steel Guitar, Banjo, Dobro - Gordon Stone Musician, Composer, Instructor
*2008 Gordon Stone spent the first quarter of 2008 playing and writing songs for a new CD with his own band, sat in with the likes of Tony Trischka, Twiddle, and The Brew; recorded on new CD’s from fellow Vermonters Seth Yacavone, Amber deLaurentis, and Mike Gordon and six new tunes from the newly formed “Hot Pickin’ Party” band (working name) comprised of an All Star line-up of pickers – Adam Frehm, Brett Hughes, Mike Santosusso, Gordon and newcomer to the state, Matthew Schragg.
The second quarter has been amazing. His band opened the Fourth of July festivities this year at the Stratton Mountain Bluegrass Festival and then played the main stage at the Sterling Stage String Fling ahead of former bandmate Jamie Masefield’s Jazz Mandolin project. GSB will headline the Forest Jam in Compton, NH in August, and open the Liberate Festival in Waitsfield that same weekend! The final mixes of the songs with Al & the Transamericans are finished - Look for their new album, due out this summer/fall, complete with a tour schedule that kicks off in October with dates from Chicago to Baltimore!
He has been seen at Honky Tonk Tuesday, introducing the community to a great new skins man on the scene – Sean Preece (working with Stone on several dates this summer).
He continues to keep his chops up for traditional bluegrass with Stone, Coane and Sacher and he and longtime collaborator Brett Hughes have a honky-tonk roadshow - Hughes, Stone and Bolles.
In addition to all this activity, Stone continues to teach guitar, bass, and banjo, and pedal steel guitar from his home in Waterbury and in The Washington West School District during the school year.
Last year Stone signed a digital distribution contract with InGrooves, Inc. in San Francisco, CA. This allows fans and to buy his music from almost every online music retailer. He was also chosen by MyxerTones (ringtones for your phone) as a featured artist for June.

"Be Here Now" Festival Scheduled for Starks, ME, August 14-16
Starks, Maine -- The hill at Harry Brown's Farm will come ALIVE
with music, giant puppets, belly dancing, and fire twirling three days during tie "Be Here Now" Festival this August.
Organizers hope to build on the success of “Harry Hoe-Down,” the first festival held on the site this season, where thousands of people braved the late June rains to bring to life Harry Brown's vision of “free people assembling freely.” An icon of Maine's counter-culture, Brown has been hosting festivals on his land for nineteen years to support efforts to legalize marijuana in Maine.
