GorillaConvict's Interests
|
| General | I like sports (soccer, b-ball, football). I watch the NBA, Champions League Soccer and NFL. I support LA Clippers, San Diego Chargers and Arsenal. I play sports, jog, workout (spin and yoga). I like to read (street novels, fantasy and prison lit). My favorites are: Naked Lunch, Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, In The Belly Of The Beast, Hot House, Monster, Trainspotting, Football Factory, 1984, Dog Eat Dog, In The Hat, Atlas Shrugged, Get In The Van, Season In Hell, Pimp, Wheel Of Time Series, The Crystal Shard, True To The Game and Soledad Brother. I also like to write (obviously). | | Music | My favorite bands are Bad Brains, Alice In Chains, The Pixies, Nine Inch Nails, Suicidal Tendencies, Tool, Dead Kennedys, Angry Samoans, Prodigy, Rage Against The Machine, Nirvana, NOFX, Ministry, Faith No More, Black Flag and NWA. | | Movies | Pulp Fiction, Clockwork Orange, Princess Bride, Natural Born Killers, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Cheech and Chongs Up In Smoke, Brazil, Clerks, Monty Pythons Holy Grail and Colors. | | Books | PRISON STORIES, a real life view of the dog-eat-dog world of
the feds, is the first in a new series of books from GCP that paint a picture of
life in the feds. PRISON STORIES definitely keeps it real with stories of prison
drug dealers, dudes getting turned out, power-tripping guards, gang-banging
psychopaths, jailhouse snitches, and hustling by any means necessary. Order your
copy of PRISON STORIES now (click
here to order) and learn more about Gorilla Convict writer, Seth "Soul
Man" Ferranti by clicking on the BIOGRAPHY
section of this site.
The next volume in the PRISON STORIES series, The
Seven Deadly Sins, will drop in early 2006. Eventually Gorilla Convict
Publications hopes to have prisoners from across the nation writing and
submitting stories for the PRISON STORIES series. Only the most brutal,
bizarre and real stories will be published.
Gorilla Convict Publications will be dropping PRISON
BASKETBALL, a collection of articles and photos featuring the best ballers
in the BOP, along with short interludes giving readers a glimpse into the prison
basketball culture that dominates the feds. PRISON BASKETBALL explores
the world of prison through real life stories of penitentiary b-ball legends,
photo exposés, and big-time gangstas.
These pieces represent the beginning of Seth Ferranti’s
writing career. More articles by Seth are archived and can be viewed at www.hoopshype.com
and www.prisonerlife.com.
"A White Boyz Tale" In the midst of the 9/11
hysteria, the publication of this article in "Don Diva" magazine in the summer
of 2001 turned Seth into 'BOP Enemy ..1' and resulted in his transfer to a higher
security prison. His transfer was based solely on the words appearing in this
article. During that transfer, Seth was put through a nightmare journey courtesy
of the BOP that included diesel therapy, SIS investigations, trips to the hole,
and a stay in a drycell. The BOP tried to break him, but Seth wouldn't stop
writing. The retaliation and harassment from his keepers only made him stronger
mentally and forged his pen hand in steel.
"Diesel Therapy" This article, published in
"Vice magazine", details Seth's first mini-diesel in the 9/11 aftermath cycle of
retribution.
"Institutionalized" This article describes
the BOP's attempts to derail Seth's educational pursuits.
"The Abuser" This article in Don Diva
started the Ron Jordan and prison basketball tidal wave that led to several
publishing opportunities, international acclaim for Seth Ferranti and Ron
Jordan, as well as talks of prison basketball documentaries and Ron Jordan
movies.
"Soul in the Hole" This article was Seth's
first appearance in Slam and continued the Ron Jordan saga.
"PoloSport" Seth's second Slam piece, this
article cemented his growing reputation as the official chronicler of prison
basketball.
"World of Prisons" This article with a
humorous take on life on the inside represents Seth's first foray for FHM.
"Final Count" This was Seth's first
political piece for The Ave.

Gorilla Convict Publications (GCP), home of federal prisoner
and Gorilla Convict writer, Seth "Soul Man" Ferranti, was formed to give a voice to authors emerging from the depths of
America's gulags. Life in the belly of the prison beast can be vicious, and
Gorilla Convict writer Seth "Soul Man" Ferranti exposes the drama and
twisted realities that go down on-the regular in the nation’s largest and most
violent system, the Bureau of Prisons. Click
here to read excerpts from PRISON STORIES and PRISON BASKETBALL.
Seth M Ferranti, federal prison register 18205-083, is the
Gorilla Convict Writer. In 1993, after spending two years as a top-15 fugitive
on the US Marshal's most wanted list, he was captured and sentenced to 304
months under the federal sentencing guidelines for an LSD Kingpin conviction and
committed to the custody of the Attorney General. A first-time, non-violent
offender, Ferranti has served 15 years of his 25-year mandatory minimum
sentence. His case was widely covered by The Washington Post and Washington
Times, and his story was profiled in the pages of Rolling Stone and Don Diva
magazine. His current release date is October, 2015.
During his incarceration Ferranti has worked to better himself
by making preparations for his eventual release back into society. Ferranti
earned an AA degree from Penn State, and a BA degree from the University of Iowa
through correspondence courses. He is currently pursuing his Masters from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
Along with his studies, Ferranti writes about the prison
experience. Numerous magazines including "Don Diva, Slam",
"Vice", "FHM". "King", "Feds", "The
Ave" have shown love, publishing Seth's articles. His
work as a prison basketball journalist has led to international recognition in
Spanish, French, Italian and Mexican magazines and his articles on prison
ballers appear on www.hoopshype.com
and www.prisonerlife.com.
