An inexplicable obsession with apes in pop culture has motivated me to create websites that focus on our jungle cousins. I first came up with COMIC BOOK GORILLARAMA about 5 years ago - the primary feature is a comprehensive gallery of comic book covers with gorillas or any ape. On a whim to add a page or two about cinematic simians, I became acquainted with the unique Hollywood profession of Gorilla Man. Over a period of about 2 years I hunted and scrounged for any snippet of info about the handful of men who have portrayed the majority of gorillas in film and television. With every new feature receiving copious amounts of attention from press, the main focus of my efforts has been directed towards uncovering the tales of gorilla men like Charles Gemora, Ray 'Crash' Corrigan, and a host of others from the earlier days of Hollywood.
Eventually, my blog GORILLA MEN was created to allow me to casually share my explorations through film reviews, interviews, research pieces, image galleries, and some occasional goofiness. Already I have been pleasantly surprised how this simple venue has put me in contact with others who share my affinity for this odd topic and expanded my limited knowledge of the unique men who put on costumes and became beasts.
Who I'd like to meet: WHO I'D LIKE TO MEET? - ALL OF YOU!
I have only been on MySpace for about a month or so and already I have crossed paths with a number of amazing, interesting, creative people who inspire, amuse and dazzle me. I like to switch up my TOP FRIENDS regularly ( though some of you seem stuck up top) and odds are, if you're on my list you'll bubble up soon. Thanks to all who pop by - and check out GORILLA MEN!
