Bio:

Dark moods with soaring vocals - fierce but fragile, harrowing but hopeful. From solitary piano and voice with delay-laden textures to sizzling guitars with anthemic hooks, Gorman are the long, silent fall through darkness AND the fiery, reverberating impact at the end.

Taking melodic cues from the likes of Radiohead and Jeff Buckley, the abstract soundscapes of Robert Fripp and the dynamics of post-rock pioneers Mogwai, Gorman can switch from a single voice with piano to a searing rock band without warning.

With the release of debut album "Kairos” (2009), Gorman honed their sound to a keen edge. With the album garnering critical acclaim, they gigged extensively with shows from Elgin to Leicester. Particular highlights came in 2010, with Chris' appearance at Scotland's 'T in the Park' festival and a solid week of headline performances by the band at 'Japan Music Week 2010' in Tokyo to an unbelievable public reception.

With 2011 spent gigging throughout the UK, including opening the Americana Festival’s main stage in Leicestershire, writing, rehearsing and recording commenced on their forthcoming release, expected in early 2012.

Debut album "Kairos" (pron. kye-ross) is on general release now.

kairos - a moment of opportunity; an indeterminate period of time in which something special occurs

Wee post-gig wander through a foggy and deserted Inverness. Fun tour and hopefully not long til I return to all the places we visited.

  2. Gorman

Enjoyable set at Hoots Inverness - @TDMundaring smashing it now, and @_JamesMackenzie up next, hometown gig for him.

  3. Gorman

Listening to Dave Brubeck on the way thru the Drumochter Pass with @tdmundaring - beautifully surreal. Misty hills and 9/8 time sigs.

In fact, ma geekgasm was premature, after passing @mrmarkmillar outside @DerrenBrown new show. Hopefully meet Thom Yorke on the tube next.

  5. Gorman

Jeeeez. New @DerrenBrown show was astounding. #mindmelted
