GORO

Bio:

GORO is a New York based Japanese Heavy Rock'n' Roll band. The Leader of the band "Goro" started the band "DENGEKI" with Masaki Yamada (bass,ex.EZO as vocal) and Cha Cha banban (drms). When Cha Cha left the band, they started to call themselves "GORO". Goro used to play at the legendary Rock Club in Jackson Heights, Queens NY called "Castle Heights" (They just closed November 2002.) every Monday with John Magliano (drms). They had a big following there. Nevertheless, Feburary 2002, Masaki decided to leave the band, So Goro had no bass player. But, Goro never lost the passion to play his own music. He reconstructed the band with Sussy (Gtr, ex.SEX MACHINEGUNS), Reo (bass), Dai (drms). GORO's invasion has just started again!!! They have been playing in New York City since Octorber 2002. New bass player Yoshi joined band since May 24th 2003. Mr. T (Ex. The Spunks) joined the band Jan 2003. There is continerous story. Mr.T decided go back to his home country Japan due to his mother's health problem, Goro have decided once GORO no more. They had the last show called" The Final Chapter" at Continental NYC Jan 2004. Goro took a break while and started to mess around some codes and licks with his gunner friend, Hash!! Then Goro started spending time at studio with Vessel(Dr) and Carlos Tirado(bass) and started some GN'R cover tunes and GORO tunes and came back as "GORO". They had just about 10 gigs in NYC such venues as Kenny's Castaway, The Snitch, Continental. Nevertheless, due to Hash's opportunity seeking journey to Japan, band had to suffer with member loss again. They had the last gig on Feb 2006 at The Snitch. Goro once started to lose concentration on music and forcused on his just day by day life such as supporting his friends band etc. But, this winter, Goro called up his long term musical alliance, Vessel to rejoin the band. They had several auditions in a while and found Takuya(Gtr on UZUHI) as lead guitarist. They re joined with the bassist " Carlos "Prince" Tirado, and complete reforming the band. Band have intense time at studio to work on some of new tunes etc. Should be back soon. 2007 is Rise of Goro!!!! July 11 2007, GORO reunited with Golden members{Dai(drms) & Yoshi(bss)} plus Tak Katsuragi and had one night reunion gig "Rise of GORO 2007". They made a enomous recognition to new audience. Nevertheless, it was difficult to make the union permanent. So, until March 2008, Goro stayed in studio with Tak Katsuragi(gtr) & new drummer, Ippo(Yummy 77). Back then, former drummer Dai stopped working on his band " Bullet Proof Junkies. Inorder to wider his musical interest, Goro offered him to spend his time in GORO as bassist and musical advisor. So, GORO finally put out themselves @ Trash Bar on March 15 2008 "Ultimate Reunion 2008". Saga to be continued....
