Fel y traciau uchod! Like the above tracks! 1. In the silence following playing, I heard a clear high-pitched tone. I wasn't sure if this was internal or external, but after a while realised that it was being produced by the aluminium table I had my banjo on - I'd put an ebow down, and the table was being excited. I couldn't resist adding Fiona's ebow to another part of the table to see what interactions would happen. ///// 2. This is the 18:46 bringing Jim to help Fiona and me disrupt our space with 12 String, Hammered Dulcimer and Banjo. ///// 3. Be ddigwyddodd ar ôl i'r trên gyrraedd. We chose six minutes from an evening's playing for Fourier Transform - this is another minute. //// 4. Yr awyren sy'n hedfan nol ac ymlaen o Ynys Môn i Gaerdydd dros y ty. The sound above my head. ///// 5. Rhywbeth o'r drysorfa cenedlaethol. Are there any musics that are not traditional? Are there any musics that are not experimental?
Myspace = gofod fi? gwagle fi? lle fi? Dwnim. Beth bynnag, mae’r gofodau lle dwi’n bodoli, yn, ac o gwmpas, Llanfaelog yn Ynys Môn. Dwi’n meddwl llawer (gormod?) am y distawrwydd a’r synau sydd yn y wahanol lefydd yma, ac weithiau yn cyfrannu seiniau fy hun i mewn i’r gwagle. Dwi hefyd yn recordio’r gofodau yma, weithiau fel y maent yn bodoli eu hunain, ac weithiau gyda rhyw fath o ychwanegiad gen i, neu gan eraill............................... My space is in Llanfaelog, Ynys Môn. I share my space with my wife, Fiona, two dogs and a few hens. My ‘Myspace’ will include some recordings made at, and about, my space. Sometimes I disrupt the sounds of my space, alone, or with others, using objects like banjos etc. I also record some of these disruptions and release them on CD, though some of them seem to make more sense when left as impermanent. Sut mae Gorwel, Gobeithio na fyddai'n gweithio dydd Sul yma a na i dod lawr i gweld beth sy'n mynd ymlaen a falle na i chwarae rhywbeth. Dwi bach yn nervous oherwydd dwi ddim yn arfer gwneud pethau fel hyn ond dwi'n credu na i cael lot o hwyl. Cymrud Ofal, Owain
Hello Gorwel, I'm to drunk to write this in Welsh.....Is it true you have an open mic night in Angelsea? I'm from Carmarthenshire and am writing an album for my next years project in UNI. I'm working on a farm in Anglesey all summer and could come along and try a few tunes maybe to see everyones reactions. Mae'n fli'n gen i, fyddwn'in hoffi ysgrifennu'r neges i gyd yn Cymraeg, Owain

Yeh,I could have spent ages re recording until everything was perfect and 'polished' but then i'd probabley have been left with something that didnt sound anything like how i first played it when i first wrote it. I think sometimes being out of key is just as important as being in key!
Music Improvisation Workshop with KOO (Jim Knight, Fiona Owen & Gorwel Owen) Saturday 27th September at Carreglwyd Woodland Festival, Llanfaethlu, Ynys Môn.
The workshop is an introduction to free-improvisation and is open to absolutely all musical abilities. The focus will be on listening and on creating sound - we will not be using conventional musical notation.
The workshop is suitable for ages 16(?) to adult and we will be running it twice during the day (11.30-1.30 and 2.30-4.30).
Please bring along a musical instrument which doesn't require mains electricity, or alternatively, you could participate using your voice.
If you don't have an instrument and/or would like a chat beforehand, please email koo@rhwng.com
Tonight's show is fuller than a nymphomaniac elephant's sleeping bag: we have an exclusive session of monstrous riffs and colossal sounds from Mother of Six; Fiona & Gorwel Owen will be in to talk about their wonderfully accomplished new album; after technical problems on last week's show, I will re-broadcast DJ Fuzzyfelt's monthly look at the Welsh language scene; *KC* gives us her monthly blog, Soundhog decorates the show with music both old and inspirational, and Huw Williams -- the Indiana Jones of Welsh music -- takes us for another trip into Welsh music past.
But the jam between all these layers of cake is the new, Welsh music that you're kind enough to send me every week.
Please send your best, new recording as a high quality .mp3 to:
Hi Gorwel. I'm not sure if you anwered to the right message - I do play bluegrass sometimes though.
I have numerous connections to you, although we've never actually met. I lived around Anglesey and Bangor for longer than I'd care to remember & I know Gwawr really well. You seem to know John Wright too. Thanks for the add.
