40's Jazz (especially swing with female vocals), Feist, Emmilliana Torrini, The Kings of Convenience, Joan as a Police Woman, Goran Bregovic, Camile, Bjork, Hanne Hukkleburg, Fiona Apple, bossanova, gypsy music, jazz, belle and sebastian, tori amos, new buffalo, elysian fields...
Composing and hibernating for the last 14 years, Gosia Basinska writes music that falls from some unknown place into her lap and she exclaims, "Oh! What have we here?"
Guitar is something she taught herself and many a talented musician have helped her on her quest to give voice to the wonderful little auditory packages that are sent to her by unknown benevolent spirits (or maybe her own spirit?)
You will currently find Gosia singing Jazz on some Saturday mornings at Le Tropicanas in Fremantle from about 11:30am to 1pm.
Also you may also find her at one of the infamously (among the creatures of these parts) wonderful performances by the Elegant Pedlars - A performance group which weaves together the talents of Jaya Penelope (poet), Jesse Williamson (storyteller) and Gosia herself (musician).

Her coming album has been mixed by the capable and inspiring Mikael Hakkarainen and his Siberians (www.myspace.com/mikaelmusic) and mastered by the brilliant Sami Kukka (www.myspace.com/samikukka) in Finland.
