Music
Big Band Jazz. I love a nice tight lick and a screaming trumpet section!!! As a musician, I like all kinds of stuff - standard jazz to folk melodies to Broadway spectaculars. Oh and I do love Broadway!!! It was the source of all the Top 40 songs until guys like Elvis and the Beatles came around.
Other than jazz, I enjoy classical, modern classical (film scores), old folk rock, the Beatles (of course), some modern pop stuff, some hip hop... it all depends.
I like comedies. Yes I enjoy the deep meaningful films... but I enjoy the silly stupid ones almost just as much. To me story telling is about sparking a reaction in the audience, not about being arrogant in the percieved cultural value of your art.
Television
I'm watching a lot more TV shows on DVD nowadays... easier to fit into my schdedule and they're commercial free!!! My favorites include: House MD, Penn & Teller's Bullshit, American Idol, The Simpons, King of Queens, King of the Hill, MadTV, South Park, BlackAdder, Jeeves and Wooster, Hell's Kitchen (I tried to stay away), almost anything on the History Channel, Mythbusters (what a fun job), Alton Brown's "Good Eats" (his personality seems a bit like mine), A Bit of Fry and Laurie, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Young Ones, and Little Britain.
Books
I used to hate reading books but college trained me (without my knowledge) how to devour 100 pages in a sitting. I read mostly non-fiction - from Broadway History to Entomology or a news or science magazine.
Heroes
Steven Speilberg, Stanley Kubrick, Ang Lee, Ennio Morricone, Sergio Leone, Alfred Hitchcock, Roger Ebert, the Beatles, Maynard Ferguson, Lerner and Lowe, Billy Wilder, Orson Welles, Jack Welch, Condi Rice, Barry Perkins, My Dad (Rest in Peace), Frank Sinitra (He did it HIS way), Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Woody Allen (back in the day), Gore Verbinski, Nicholas Cage, Ben Elton, Walt Disney, and people who make it despite the odds.
What's up? I'm a self proclaimed media guru (expert in all things presentation) currently located in Temecula California. My speciality is video production and independent film but I enjoy dabbling in website design and print layout. When I'm not doing that, you'll find me perfoming on the trumpet (I'm classically trained with a hint of the blues) in local groups, churches and what not -basically anywhere that will have me.
Anything else about me you wanna know... you're just going to have to ask.

By now, everybody's heard about the Swine Flu... passively following the news story as it went from "possible" to "confirmed" to "outbreak" to "epidemic" to "pandemic": As the number of victims went from 1 to 10 to 50 to 100, and the number of deaths rose (the youngest victim reported to be only 22 months old), my own curiosity kicked in.
This morning I wake up to hear the news that Fort Worth ISD (literally 10 minutes away by car) had shut down until May 11th... that's not one or two schools in a small town, this is a large city with over 530,000 people living in it... all of them buy groceries and go to malls, movies, restaurants, parks, hospitals, and more. The pandemic has hit home, and it looks as if soon, everyone in the US will experience similar "shut downs" and "closures" if a State of Emergency is declared...
...the bad news? As of the time of this bulletin, it appears very likely this will happen.
I have gathered sources, did research, and produced a "short and sweet" story that gives you the information you *need* in one shot, but also potentially exposes willful or negligent cover ups of the TRUE figures of the Swine Flu Pandemic... how much worse can it be? Well, if my facts are correct (and you will know by the weekend), they could be 10 to 25 *times* worse than what is being "officially reported".
hey John! my comedy troupe will be performing at the Old Town Temecula Community Theatre on Feb 19th. the headliner is Alonzo Bodden, the season 3 winner of NBC's Last Comic Standing. let me know if you'd be interested in coming out :)
I hope you'll be reviewing High School Musical 3- just because i want to picture you in the middle of a crowded movie theatre surrounded by thirteen year olds...

Project Black Studios presents "Tentacles in a Twisted Deathdream". Met up with a gentleman named Stephen Romano at Fear Fest 2 in Dallas who was there promoting his new book, "Shock Festival". He gave a passionate speech about wanting some live-action components to compliment the hard cover illustrated novel.
Yes: You ARE supposed to see the "effects", and yes: You ARE supposed to see the microphone hanging down in plain view. These are quite intentional, and many films of the era featured similar "goofs".
It's meant to look/sound like a grindhouse-style flick. On one hand, no the effects aren't "overpowering" because I also imagine a box office flop from the 70's would have little "wear and tear" over the years.
Yes, "technical bloopers" (ie: Microphone in the shot) were intentional.
