DJ/Producer Becka is pleased to present the launch of her new techno based label, Gotham City Recordings. Distributed globally through Beatport.com, it will be an online digital sub-division of NYCs already successful Gotham Grooves label. Taking a slightly different approach, Gotham City Recordings will be about pushing a wide variety of styles ranging from glitchy minimal sounds, to the heavier beats of tribal, to the harder, edgier sounds of techno.
As a result of growing demand in Europe Becka relocated to Spain in June of 2006, with Gotham Grooves and Gotham City Recordings label manager, Agent Orange. In honor of their move, they leave their mark on NYC with the first release, the Departure EP. Each track on this EP has a very unique distinct sound from five of the most respected artists in NYC today - Mark Verbos, Dan Physics, Montaz (Alek Biotic), along with label owners Becka & Agent Orange.

-"Carl Get's His Groove Back," an ode to Gotham Grooves hero, Carl Cox is a HUGE latin techno anthem of the summer. Swinging latin percussions and piano keep it muy caliente!
-France's in demand Josh Love and Matt 303 on the remix here keep the energy and sexyness up and the beats tight, adding to the originals pianos and voices.
-Pick Pocket rides on fast stabing synths and a classic hardgroove bassline. Classic "common" sample in the break flashes back the the early 90's.
-What Is Love has been a favorite among the Spanish groove techno dj's this year. Deep, dark pads ala Dave Clark red series and groovey pumping percussion.
