The GOTHAM SCREEN 2008 Film Festival and Screenplay Competition is now OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS!!!

The 2nd Annual GOTHAM SCREEN Film Festival and Screenplay Contest will take place in late October 2008 in downtown New York City.
Following the success of the 2007 edition, this years event has been expanded to showcase short and feature films during two days of screenings.
An opportunity for filmmakers to have their work shown and critically judged in New York, Gotham Screen is looking for fresh voices and perspectives from local, national and international filmmakers. The mission of the festival is to create a positive industry and audience exposure for works that would otherwise not easily get seen.
The 2008 Screenplay Contest comes new with a $2,500 cash prize for the winning screenplay! In addition, excerpts from selected contest entries will be performed live by professional actors at a staged reading during the festival. Please go to www.gothamscreen.com for details.

Tickets and passes will go on sale in early October. Submission deadlines are in late September.
Set up by a group of Gotham based producers and productions companies, the GOTHAM SCREEN screenplay contest is specifically targeted at up and coming writers who don't have agency or management representation yet but would otherwise have the talent and craft to make it in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
The contest comes new this year with a $2,500 cash prize for the winning screenplay, and excerpts from selected entries will be preformed live at a staged reading. GOTHAM SCREEN hopes to find writers who are serious about their craft and ready to work with producers in further developing their screenplays and stories.
