  • Bio

Maintained for Gothic Farmyard. 1980 to 1985. Gothic Farmyard, an alternative early 80's Australian band who stockpiled songs, however only released studio recorded cassette tapes (limited edition) a live tape but now are they featured on a compilation CD and all over the web. Twig to it.... The band were described as frenetic, provocative, entertaining, humorous and entrancing by local press and the band described the press the sameway. They gigged solidly from 1980 to 1985 with bands ranging from The Scientists, Harem Scarem, Sacred Cowboys, Blue Ruin to Corpse Grinders and touring acts. In 1983 they became known as Gothic Farmyard although not really a gothic sub culture band. The name is derived from the work of a photographer 'Ralph Eugene Meatyard' and an article about his work called 'The Gothic Meatyard' The band charted well on public alternative radio stations over a 2 year period. They built up a loyal following before expanding their horizons in 1985 eg. new projects, include, art, writing books, other important jobs and new musical bits and pieces etc ........
