OK - for those who don’t know much about Goudi (born Pierre Goudesone), I grew up by the sea in Oostende Belgium and then moved to Brussels. In the eighties I was in a new-wave band called “Flesh & Fell” when it wasn’t retro because new wave was New - the records Hunger, The Wind & Emma put us immediately on the Belgian &Dutch Rock ’n Roll map and onto many compilations over the last decade. In the early 90’s I joined Niki Mono’s "Contradictions are a luxury" tour that took us to France, Italy and Croatia but I went my own way afterwards. Over the next few years I spent most of my time producing and recording independent bands and releasing my own music.
I worked together with New-York dancer Kraig Patterson on an Album
“Work that Pussy” and we released the first single on a Major label - but they wanted us to revise all the lyrics for the album - and... bye-bye we refused!
A new adventure was "Speaking T", releasing 2 albums "Gravity killed the acrobat” and "Poised and Ready".We played the AB, Botanique,Dour,
Marktrock, … to name a few and a lot of clubs but to every story there comes an end.
Today there’s a new chapter!
For the just released album “GOUDI” I have had a helping hand from my magnificent band and beautiful people like Sabine Kabongo, J-M Aerts, Ron Reuman, Pim De Wolf and Nicolas Fiszman…
Goudi’s First Single “La Belgiek” (DIY) in June 2007 was picked up by National /Regional TV &radio stations and by fashion magazine “ELLE” for their Belgian radio-campaign 2007-2008 and this was long before the brothers Klozo.
If you haven’t heard Goudi’s voice before, it IS your first impression of his music. A rich, distinctive, roasted baritone, his voice is all character, with nothing pretended or forced. There’s complexity, darkness, and intensity, but it’s all so snug and woven,there’s a spirit to it and the lyrics are soulful and provocative.
Not recommended as background wallpaper...
