My main interest is working with North Dakotans to build our state. I also enjoy taking the time to take advantage of everything North Dakota has to offer, from taking in North Dakota’s pristine landscapes, sharing in the rich heritage of hunting and fishing, participating in sports and attending sporting events at any of North Dakota’s high schools and colleges, which boast some of the best sports teams in the nation, or enjoying some of North Dakota’s arts and heritage festivals that can be seen and experienced throughout the state. I also like animals including dogs, cats, horses and others.

Historical novels and books about our founding fathers like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.
Heroes
My heroes include my parents as well as great leaders and teachers. Teachers work hard to challenge our young people and help mold the brightest minds and future leaders of this state and nation.
I have always believed that North Dakota has great potential to offer not only an excellent quality of life already available to its people, but to offer everyone the opportunity to follow their entrepreneurial spirit, watch their businesses flourish, follow their career goals and raise their families. Through bipartisan efforts and a collaborative spirit, we’ve turned that potential into actuality, and North Dakota’s future indeed looks bright.

Who I'd like to meet:
As Governor, I’ve had the opportunity to meet many very interesting men and women, including national leaders. I’m also a big sports fan, so there are some sports figures I’d really enjoy meeting, including Tom Brady or Tiger Woods.
