GeneralInvesting in Our Country: Fighting Terrorism From the Heartland: Sarah Steelman has led the nation in terror-free investing, with many states and the U.S. Congress following her example. In her first months in office(as State Treasurer), she cut off money to terrorism, and implemented policies to protect Missouri's investments from terror-tied risks. She Created the nation's first terror-free fund, won approval for the nation's first terror-screening measure, and has made Missouri the only state in the country to offer terror-free investment options.
MusicInvesting In Our State: Growing Missouri's Economy: Since taking office as treasurer, Sarah has returned over $1 billion to Missouri and put it to work with the people of our state. For the first time in state history, Treasurer Steelman established programs that include Missouri first policies and community reinvestment priorities in the placement of Missouri investments. Her responsibilities as treasurer include overseeing the return of unclaimed money to the citizens. For the past two years, record amounts of money were returned to rightful owners, over $76 million to Missourians!
MoviesInvesting In Our FUTURE: Getting Our Kids to College: Sarah serves as chairman of the state's Higher Education Savings Board, which administers MOST---Missouri's 529 College Savings Plan. This plan helps citizens save for their children's college education through a tax-advantaged investment program. Sarah overhauled the MOST plan by lowering costs and providing expanded and enhanced investment options. MONEY magazing recently recognized the new MOST as one of the nations' best college savings plans. MOST now has over 100,000 participants with over $1.2 billion in savings growing for the future of Missouri's kids. Through an innovative rewards network, all Missouri families can now earn college savings through their everyday purchases at no extra cost to them.
Television100% Pro-Life: As senator, Sarah carried a perfect pro-life voting record and was endorsed by Missouri Right to Life. She sponsored legislation to create funding for abortion alternatives, tax credits for contributions to pregnancy resource centers, and the Adoption Awareness Law. She was also the sponsor of Missouri's Marriage Amendment to our Constitution. She sponsored the bill to require phonics instruction, and the bills requiring the Pledge of Allegiance and observance of Veteran's Day in our schools, and cosponsored Conceal and Carry.
BooksFrom the beginning of her career, Sarah has understood the problems and fought for the kind of changes we need to make healthe care work for Missouri. She has championed market-based solutions for families, including tax credits for insurance premiums. And she has brought about innovative reforms to get tough on health care abuses--her Infection Control Act of 2004, which still receives accolades from around the country, her protections against elderly abuse and help for seniors with prescription drugs are just a few examples.
HeroesSarah has always understood that to be an elected official is to be a public servant. While a State Senator she sponsored legislation to eliminate legislative pensions, to reject legislative salary increases, and was the leader on many successful efforts to make government more transparent and accountable. She led the fight against the tobacco settlement, and her filibuster of the proposed taxpayer subsidy of the Cardinals stadium pitted her against powerful interests--but she stood her ground and prevailed. Sarah has always fought for the people. She always will.

Thank you for adding me, and thank you for your service to the State of Missouri. I am happy to offer my help in your campaign for the Senate. And I am not alone in that sentiment, among the St. Louis Campaign For Liberty (Ron Paul) folks. We seem to have precious little time left to protect the sovereignty of traditional American life. I really fear the corporate direction Public Private Partnership is going to take us.
Again, thank you!!!!
May I suggest "Truth Be Tolled" as a movie of interest? It starts out slow, but gets into the heart of the matter of Government Subjugating its own People for Profit.

Hey Sarah, it was great getting to see you three times this weekend!! I loved getting to introduce you to people, and wish that I could have introduced you to more. :) I enjoyed your speech at the convention as well, and I was so relieved to hear about a candidate for governor that is wanting the endorsement of the people rather then the endorsement of the good ol' boys that have given us a lot that has not been good for Missouri.

Happy belated birthday!

Sarah, what are your positions on the Patriot Act? The Real ID Act? NAIS?

I noticed that you support small government and are not part of the 'good ol' boys club" which I admire. I appreciate those that will stand for what is right, even if they are standing alone and left out of those good boy meetings. Which, in many ways, that is a good sign for you.

What are your thoughts on returning education to local communities? Eliminating Federal and State mandates in education? The US was once #1 in education when the government was less involved. These are some of Reagan's positions that I liked.

I have read that you want to avoid going into Iran, I support that too. I don't think our nation can keep funding these wars. I think we need to deal with our fiscal issues, our deficit and issues that are much closer to home.

I am excited to see your positions on these issues, and look forward to when your website has them.

Many others and I would like to contribute, but we need to know where you stand on these issues.
