GOYO RAMOS ARTISTIC BIOGRAPHY, BY GOYO RAMOS
I have been into music ever since I was little. I wrote my first song at age 16, entitled Waiting for you. After this song I wrote more songs. I did my first performance in 1988, a contest at a disco in Tapia de Casariego (Asturias). I took part in a Radio Asturias demo contest and reached the semifinals with a song called Clap your hands. I have been played in the radio, on stations such as Cadena Dial, Cadena Cope, Cadena 100, Radio Asturias, Radio Nacional de España, and others. I have performed at Teatro Jovellanos in the Bravo Asturianísimo festival. Arús show on Cadena 100 took me to Santander, Bilbao, Oviedo, and Gijón. I had my picture taken in all these places, where I signed a number of autographs. I have performed on every Asturian TV station: Tele Gijón, Tele Asturias, Tele Oviedo, Tele Avilés, and Localia. I have also performed on the Castilla-León TV station. I have performed nationwide on RTVE Channel 1, in the shows Tu gran día and Cerca de tí; on Telecinco in Trampolín, singing Where is Rafaels money?; in Teresa Campos. En el programa Dia a día singing Goyos Rock (To the left and to the right); and in Carolina Ferrers Día a día de verano, singing Carolinas song, as it was Carolina Ferrers birthday.
My best performances were at Sala Les Bases, Barcelona because the people, the audience, really got into it. It seemed as if I were Bisbal, they would reach for my hand and hold it and throw flowers at me on the stage, it was a wonderful night for me. I also had a good time in Medina del Campo, they filmed me going from the train station to the hotel, the dinner at night, and the performance at Discoteca Zeus.
In my singing stage I have recorded three albums: first, Clap you hands; second, Where is Rafaels money?; and third, a compilation of songs and new songs. I have performed in bars, weddings, theatres, company dinners, discos, TV, and radio.

Goyo Ramos is a singer from Gijón, Spain who has been in business for the last twenty years. Spanish readers may already have heard of him, as he has appeared on television a number of times, especially on Asturias stations. If this is the case, they may possibly have noticed certain limitations, so to speak, regarding his vocal abilities, as well as the rather peculiar choice of material (most of his songs are his own compositions) and his idiosyncratic stage presence.
Whenever the name of Goyo Ramos is mentioned, the emphasis is often placed on that which separates him from conventional singers, yet not reaching beyond the surface, and so he tends to be grouped along with those late night TV freaks who would do anything to get some fame and hopefully a bit of money while they are exploited by the machine they naively were trying to exploit. Goyo Ramos belongs in a different category for many reasons. The first may be that he has neither the malice nor the desire to operate in that manner; the second, that he is an artist, and he prefers to succeed by his own means, and in his own terms.
Goyo Ramos is many things in himself, and he is also many things for me. If I had to reduce the issue to its essence, I might say that he is an enigma for me. But he is also a model, and a source of inspiration/admiration, because his drive and perseverance surpass those of anyone I ever met in the music world. And it is precisely in these abilities separating him from those who may succeed in music that his strength lies. Goyo Ramos may be aware that he is laughed at (but whos laughing?); he may know that he does not have any talent (if thats not talent, what is?): that, I do not know. The important thing is that he does not care, he keeps up the fight, and all along he always has a smile and a kind word for everybody. As an artist, what he wants is to entertain, and this he achieves, both ironically and literally.
Wherever he goes, Goyo Ramos is a hit. The antihero transcends his condition, and those willing to see beyond the surface of things will see a hero. Goyo Ramos is, no questions about it, a Don Quixote of pop, whose lost his mind because of music, and since then has been dead ser on a quest for fame as his ideal: I am being completely serious. Goyo Ramos comprises a great many metaphors, and for this reason and all I have just said I am making a film about him, fully aware that I will not solve the riddle but rather will make it larger. I will just be the means, and this will just be one more adventure along his way. There are lessons for everyone.
BIOGRAFÍA ARTÍSTICA DE GOYO RAMOS, POR GOYO RAMOS
Desde pequeño, ya tenía afición por la música. A los 16 años compuse la primera canción que se titulaba Esperando por tí. Después de esta canción fui componiendo más canciones.
En el año 1988 hice mi primera actuación en un concurso de una discoteca en Tapia de Casariego.
Participé en un concurso de maquetas en Radio Asturias quedando semifinalista con la canción Tocando palmitas con las manos. He salido por la radio en emisoras como: Cadena Dial, Cadena Cope, Cadena 100, Radio Asturias, Radio Nacional de España, etc. En el Teatro Jovellanos con Bravo Asturianísimo. En la Cadena 100 con Arús me llevaron a Santander, Bilbao, Oviedo y Gijón. En todos estos sitios me sacaron varias fotos que firmé con varios autógrafos.
He actuado en todas las televisiones locales asturianas: Tele Gijón, Tele Asturias, Tele Oviedo, Tele Avilés y Localia. También estuve en la televisión autonómica de Castilla-León.
He actuado en la primera cadena en el programa Tu gran día, y en el programa Cerca de tí. He actuado en Telecinco en el Trampolín con la canción ¿Dónde estará el dinero de Rafael?. En el programa Dia a día de Teresa Campos cantando la canción El rock de Goyo(a la izquierda y a la derecha).
En el programa de Carolina Ferrer Dia a día de verano cantando La canción de Carolina ya que era el cumpleaños de Carolina Ferrer.
Mis mejores actuaciones fueron en la Sala Les Bases de Barcelona porque la gente, el público se volcó. Conmigo parecía que era Bilbal, me cogían de la mano y me tiraban flores en el escenario, fue una noche fabulosa para mí.
También lo pasé bien en Medina del Campo, me grabaron desde la estación del tren hasta el Hostal, la cena por la noche y la actuación en la Discoteca Zeus.
En la etapa como cantante he grabado tres elepés: Primero Tocando palmitas con las manos, el segundo ¿Dónde estará el dinero de Rafael? y el tercero de recopilación de canciones y canciones nuevas.He actuado en bares, bodas, teatros, cenas de empresa, discotecas, televisión y radio.
GOYO RAMOS: SINOPSIS DEL PROYECTO DE DOCUMENTAL SOBRE GOYO RAMOS, EN FASE DE RODAJE, POR LUIS MAYO
Goyo Ramos es un cantante gijonés que lleva veinte años en el mundo de la música. El lector tal vez esté ya familiarizado con él, puesto que ha aparecido varias veces en televisión, sobre todo en cadenas locales de Asturias, pero también en alguna ocasión en las nacionales. En este caso, posiblemente le haya llamado la atención sus, llamémoslas así, ciertas limitaciones en cuanto a habilidades vocales, así como su peculiar selección de material (la mayoría de sus canciones son composiciones propias) y su pintoresca presencia escénica.
A menudo, cuando se habla de Goyo Ramos, el énfasis se pone en aquello que lo diferencia de otros cantantes al uso, pero quedándose solamente en lo superficial, y por tanto se le tiende a colocar en el mismo lugar que ocupan esos personajes freaks que explotan los programas nocturnos para obtener fama y ojalá que también un poco de dinero a la vez que son explotados por ellos. Goyo Ramos está en otra categoría por muchas razones. La primera de ellas, que él ni tiene la malicia ni el deseo de funcionar de esa manera; la segunda, que él es un artista, y quiere triunfar por sus propios medios, y en sus propios términos.
Goyo Ramos es en sí muchas cosas, y también es muchas cosas para mí. Si tuviera que reducirlo a su esencia, tal vez diría que para mí es un enigma. Pero también es un modelo, y una fuente de inspiración/admiración, porque su afán y su perseverancia superan a los de cualquier otra persona que yo haya conocido en el mundo de la música. Y es precisamente en esas características que lo diferencian de aquéllos que pueden llegar a triunfar donde reside su fuerza. Goyo Ramos puede saber que se ríen de él, o no (quién se ríe en realidad?); puede saber que no tiene ningún talento, o no (acaso no es un talento lo suyo?): yo no lo sé. Lo que importa es que a él le da igual, sigue luchando, y a la vez siempre tiene una sonrisa y una palabra amable para todo el mundo. Lo que quiere como artista es entretener, y lo consigue, irónica y literalmente, a la vez.
Goyo Ramos triunfa allí donde va. El antihéroe trasciende su condición, y quien vaya más allá de la superficie verá un héroe. Goyo Ramos es, absolutamente, el Don Quijote de la canción ligera, cuyo juicio quedó trastornado por la música hace muchos años, y desde entonces persigue la fama como un ideal: digo esto completamente en serio. Goyo Ramos encierra muchas metáforas, y por esto y por todo lo que acabo de decir voy a hacer una película sobre él, a sabiendas de que no resolveré el enigma, sino que lo haré crecer. Yo solamente seré un medio, y ésta, una aventura más en su camino. Hay lecciones para todos.
