| As I slam the door shut on what I have come to call "2009 - The year of major bummers", I have learned many things and gained a new attitude as well.
For one, spending over five months in hospitals and rehabs during my favorite season of the year has taught me to take better care of myself. I've also realized that enduring a little pain is much better than weaning myself off drugs like Dilaudid, Morphine, and Fentanyl.
As 2010 approaches I am also going to have a new attitude towards what I call the "I'm Hot/You're Not" crowd. They are self centered, selfish, and aren't happy until they have everyone around them bowing to them like they are some sort of royalty. Listen up people! You know who you are, and yes, your crap stinks too.
On the brighter side I have met a lot of great individuals full of creative enthusiasm and energy in the last month or two. These are people who I have come to respect and who respect me in turn. Some of them half my age, have become my teachers. Their approach towards life is nothing short of amazing.
I have been convinced that my product and time is worth something. At the same time it's not always about the money. I would rather live in a gutter with a cheap point and shoot camera, than in a mansion with no camera at all.
Music is going to play a bigger part in my life as well. I'm not talking about just listening to it but creating it as well. My direction is a little uncertain at the moment, but the engine is running and just waiting for me to step on the gas.
There are a couple of major projects I have been approached with and asked to participate in. God willing they will come to pass. One in particular would be a real door opener but would mean a lot of traveling. All prayers are apreciated at this point.
I'll close with six simple words I plan on living by in 2010 - "Never Pass Up A Good Opportunity" May God bless each and every one of you. |
