The mission of the Great Plains Alliance for Clean Energy is to support a clean, secure, prosperous energy economy benefiting more Kansas businesses, farms, communities, and all future Kansans.
Alliance members recognize that there is no inherent conflict between economic activity and environmental accountability, and that Kansas is particularly well suited to play a leadership role in the coming clean energy economy.
The alliance seeks to encourage citizen participation in a well-informed, open, and bipartisan public discussion of long-term energy and regulatory policy in Kansas that is consistent with the national movement for a clean and balanced energy future.
We embrace full disclosure of the assets, costs, potential and liabilities of our energy and fuel options, including the environmental, social, and economic costs of global climate change and carbon emissions.
We believe Kansans have a right to access credible expertise, accountable scientific information, and full exploration of the costs and benefits of our various energy options.
GPACE seeks to correct an imbalance in the information citizens and their elected representatives have received regarding the critical and complex energy policy decisions facing our state. Our concern is for all Kansans, east to west, conservative to liberal, today, and for generations to come.
Alliance members can be citizens from across Kansas who have no previous affiliation with a group, business, or organization. We welcome anyone interested in seeing Kansas become a leader in clean, renewable energy to join us in our effort. Our greatest strength is the support of Kansans, just like you.
