I am a singer/songwriter from Pennsyvania, USA. I recently released my very own CD of all original songs. The release party and concert was a sold out success- (filling the Greensburg Garden Center's Auditorium). The event was sponsored by the Westmoreland Cultural Trust and tickets were sold through the Palace Theatre.
Although, I have always dreamed of getting that "Country Music Award," my goal with this CD is to get recognized as a talented singer/songwriter, to obtain radio airplay, play larger venues and festivals and to expand my following. I have learned to do things in steps and to set goals and not to give up until I reach them. I have been in bands since high school, but never got to express myself to my fullest of abilities until I branched out as a solo artist.
My songwriting approach is to take negative situations or comments and flip it to have a positive message in a song. I want people to sit back and be greatful for what they have. Not to worry about what others have and what they don't have. Life is not a competion. It is about doing for others, letting others know how much you love them and living life to be happy. People tend to live in the past. If you are dwelling in the past or on bad things that may have happened, you can't live in today. If your not living in today, you can't make the future better.
Each song on this CD is very different.
The first track-"A Million Tears"- you would think would be sad, but it's about the only tears that count are the happy ones.
"Never Been In Love"- brings to our attention that you can have all the money in the world, but the best things in life are free, for instance-LOVE. Some people will never find true love.
"Just Believe"- Sometimes you have to think positive and let yourself believe in something. Let down your walls and take a chance.
"I Can Do Anything In A Cowboy Hat"-I always wanted to write a song about a Cowboy Hat. This is a fun song. A song that will make you forget your troubles....even for a few moments. So go out and buy yourself a cowboy hat and see what happens!!!!!!!!!!!
"Don't Walk There In MY Shadow"- This is the title track of the CD. Parents always want their children to do better in life. If we can admit our mistakes and learn from them, we can teach our children and others to walk their own paths and to avoid some of the mistakes we have made. Or we can walk with that person until they are off our past dark path and onto their very own one. We can make the future brighter for our children if we can just break the family curse......be it poverty, substance abuse, lack of faith etc.... We must remember to pray and to believe that God will help us if we seek him.
"Homegrown Country Boys"-TRUE STORY-this is actually about a real group of guys that didn't fit in to the city image. They came into a club one night, where I was playing, and they got a few looks because these guys were "real rednecks". When my break was over, I started singing. These guys got up on the dance floor and showed everyone up. I never seen a redneck kick so high. Needless to say, everyone wanted to be their friends. They come out once and awhile to my gigs and are now known as the Wolfe Pack. This is their song and I can't wait until they learn a dance to it.
"Relay For Life"-This is a bonus track. I released this as a single for the American Cancer Society last summer. It was written because my cousin, Sherry, and her friend, Wendy, were doing a slide video for the event and they wanted a song for the background. They asked me to write a song. I said yes, but had no idea what to do. I though....this will be a challenge. The next day when I woke up, it was in my head. I wrote it that day. It is written from the perspective of one who is in the hospital with cancer and how greatful they are that others care and others are out there fighting their battle for them to find a cure.
I hope you like the CD. Please purchase it through CD baby and Digstation.
