Not sure about that word influences, but for certain some guitarists have made a lasting impression on me, Manitas De Plata, Vic Triggle, (vic and I have been in touch after 40 years he found me on a Argentinian website) Hans Reichel, Uwe Kropinski, lots of modern classical..original thinking guitarist who are driven by talent and not by money, fame. etc...
Mervyn Bowley...at 90 years of age its hard to keep up with him. a true icon.

For me so long as it does not sound like what has been before, there are to many soundalikes, music is a expression of the soul, not a fashion ideal....more more more of the same...it may be a tad lonely but I was born an original so why would I want to copy...some artists have no choice I am one i cant do anything else except my own work... I have been driven mad by mediocrity tripe and krud. my biggest fear is the mundane.

hi dad :) how are you? i'm all healed from my crash now.. just some teeth still to fix.. :P i've been using the guitar port for almost 4hours everyday :D its great.. i just tried recording something the other day for the first time.. just some improv thing.. i can send it if you're online at some point.. its not good or anything.. lots of rong notes and bad stuff but for a 1st try ever its not bad :P
