Failte, and welcome to my Wee Space.
I'm from Fort William in the Highlands. I sing, play whistles, big pipes, border pipes and small pipes. I also act, so I get to play aboot wi' actors and musicians, and generally have a varied and wonderful life in the music/theatre industry.
I came to the Big City of Glasgow in the 80's and went to Art school. I was a heather bound lassie from the hills, I knew nothing of music but marches, strathspeys, reels and Piobaireachd, and I sang the the occasional Corries song. However, I got sooked into the folk scene, and after an apprenticeship in pubs, folk clubs, busking, and a residency on the Waverly Paddle steamer, I became a founder member of 'Iron Horse'. We became part of the big folk revival in the 90's. We made loadsy albums and toured solidly world-wide for 11 years until I took the plunge and went solo in 2001.
Currently, I tour with my own trio when I can get it together, and also perform with the Celtic Big Band 'The Unusual Suspects' and 'GHP', a vocal trio with Corrina Hewat and Karine Polwart.
Thanks for looking in, I hope you enjoy listening to my music, and check out my friends, they're all selected carefully....
Slainte!
Annie

Jeeeez. There's not enough space for that. let's just say...Life.
BVs sounding fookin lush-there appears to be a big cloud of South Seas candyfloss floating in via Memphis and into The Final Crusade.Nice!I'll be in touch.
Lovely chunes, honoured to be acquent! There's not really anything Albannach on our mice pace, but if ye check oor webshite (linked therefrom) there's a Neil Gow & some Scots country dance chestnuts, roasted in our peculiar way. Also, do check out Gilles Losier among our ms friends on our page! Fine fiddler & pianist; accompanied Jean Carignan for many's the year, and played wi Aly Bain & all them. Lucky me gets to play with him whenever he's in town (I think I'm on a couple of the things on his page) and he & I wave the saltire high at seisuns (which otherwise tend more to the Eireannach in these parts.) Slainte frae bonnie Mon-ray-al! Patrick (who misses Loch Linnhe)
Hello Annie and thanks very much for the add... come and visit our
shiny new studio (when it's finished!). If you're a Facebook or Twitter
addict we've just set up pages for that as well. Cheers from the
Watercolour Team!
(PS:This is Findlay working under cover... give you a shout when we're back from our holiday in Scotland!)
Also I run The Great Edinburgh Run as part of team Finola and did a gig to help send Finola Forman to college as the government in Scotland unlike the rest of the UK wont help disabled people with complex needs when they want to go into further education, check out her site at
So we'll be fighting with Annie Massie to get you doon here on Tuesday then anyway? She might be helluva mighty on the guitar and that but I'd take her in a fight. You gotta watch oot for the wee wiry bastards eh?
