Grace Emilys aren't part of a scene.
But it would be nice if you knew what they got up to.
Last year, Grace Emilys released two singles, On Jamaica Street and Lipstick Blues, on the independent Euphonios label. Both singles recieved airplay on BBC Radio One, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio Scotland and Xfm nationally in the UK, as well as local regional stations. The singles also achieved international airplay in Continental Europe and in the Canada and the United States.
In the last 12 months, the Emilys played over 100 shows including two UK tours, their own 30 date headline UK tour, and tours as support with Pete and the Pirates and the Red Light Company.
The start of the year saw them play Club NME shows, BMI's Ones To Watch showcase at 229 in London, and the Great Escape festival in Brighton.
On the UK Festival circuit, they played a handful of festivals - including pulling one of the largest crowds in the T Break tent at T in the Park and recieving glowing reviews for their Hydro Connect festival appearance.
Internationally, the Emilys were the only Scottish band selected to play North by Northeast (NxNE) festival in Toronto, and made front page news in Canada upon their arrival. The success of their appearance at NxNE was further evidenced by the band then being selected to play the British showcase at the prestigious CMJ Music Marathon in New York.
The band would like to point out that this was all done without the help of the Scottish Arts Council. Just to buck the trend.
