Sounds Like
Some people have told me I sound like Judy Garland and some say Carol Kidd. I think I just sound like myself and can only aspire to be as good as those 2 great ladies.
I always had music in my life. Sang in the school choir and at family gatherings but didn't sing publicly till I discovered karaoke in my thirties and loved it but I wanted to get more of a connection with my audience and sing with real musicians so I thought I would give jazz a try since I have always loved the music.
I started taking coaching from a lovely man called George King early in 2006 and he was very encouraging.
My hopes of going out singing live were then interrupted in October 2006 when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer but after chemotherapy, mastectomy & radiotherapy I am now in full remission and determined to use my small talent to make some money for Cancer Research UK so I have funded the recording of an album of great jazz standards and easy listening tunes called 'Someone to watch over me'

Sucioperro have had their fun in recent weeks playing the Leeds & Reading festivals with their Biffy mates in Marmaduke Duke, but now they are on their headline tour and play the final gig of the tour at Lochgelly Town Hall next Saturday. If you're unable to get to either ticket outlet, then give me a call on 07599 705418 and I will get tickets to you.
Last train from Lochgelly to Dunfermline/Edinburgh @ 23:27 & Glenrothes @ 00:06. Thanks and hope to see you there.
Thanks for the friendship and for the warm welcome that you and the Fife Jazz Club gave the Fife Youth Jazz Orchestra (FYJO) yesterday. As you know the FYJO are looking for more members so gigs like yesterday and exposure via friends' MySpace sites will help our cause.
"Ticklin' The Strings" by Sweet Hollywaiians
Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
