Graham Clews is a 30 year old English singer-songwriter and a virtuoso guitarist. Aside from guitar, he is also plays bass, keyboards, steel guitar and percussion on his recordings. Graham is currently based in the Midlands, UK where he performs regularly as a solo acoustic artist, with his band, and as a duo with long time musical partner, drummer Leyton B. Graham's band recently performed a well received live set on BBC Radio Shropshire. Graham has a wealth of experience playing live on both sides of the Atlantic; he has performed at famous venues such as The Dublin Castle in London, UK and at the legendary CBGBs Club in New York City. In the mid 90’s Graham played a series of live gigs in the Mid-South of the USA, including shows with the late Texan blues legend Benny Valerio (Lightnin’ Hopkins, Albert Collins). Graham also performed on Memphis’ famous Beale Street. Graham gained further experience playing gigs on the East Coast, both solo and as guitarist for Angel Pam West in Philadelphia and New York.
Influences:-
Graham’s guitar playing is influenced by classic rock and blues, including Cream, Led Zeppelin and Thin Lizzy. In the mid 90’s Graham was invited to play at the first ever UK Led Zeppelin Convention in London. As a result he completed his first demo recordings with the assistance of Jason Bonham at his studio. Graham has also guested live on stage with original Thin Lizzy guitarist Eric Bell. Graham’s songwriting and vocal harmonies have a strong 60’s/70’s Californian influence from bands such as Crosby, Stills Nash and Young and Brian Wilson / The Beach Boys. Graham is currently completing a new CD, recorded on his mobile studio entitled ‘Songs With Legs’ which will feature 15 original compositions. One song from the CD has been debuted (with a rave review) on Hawaiian radio station KKCR by Michele Rundgren (Former singer with the Tubes & wife of Todd Rundgren).
