   About Graham Beck
Ex-art student. I pursued a 'musical direction' whilst at Hull Regional College Of Art during the 1970's, with the help of AMM drummer Eddie Prevost (who taught me improvisation), & fellow student Eric Goulden (performance, spontaniety, song structures, making mistakes sound good, looking the part & putting on a good show). Form RUBY & THE TAKEAWAYS (with Eric, guitar & vocals, Arthur Smee, drums & vocals, & myself on electric piano & vocals).............

Back in Gt. Yarmouth, in local band PARISHEIGHTS - when I started writing my own numbers. Next stop............

London: In bands PENGUIN FURY, DEAR JOHN & lastly THE WORRY DOLLS. In between, I was working on/with solo recordings, collaborations & gigs.

Hull: Past bands - HULL MAN, THE ORDINAIRES, BRAZIL & FRANK. I now do quite a bit of solo recording - experimental, as well as jazzy/electro/improvisation stuff, & take part in Art-based webcasts & events. I gig occasionally with (& have recorded with) WRECKLESS ERIC, & also more recently with AMY RIGBY.

Present bands: BIG SPIDER BECK - a duo/collaboration with vocalist & ukelele-player Garry Pullen. I'm playing the keyboard + gadgets, with the odd bit of singing thrown in for good measure. We aim to cover everything from Elvis to The Fall (& beyond) in our own unique way. (www.myspace.com/bigspiderbeck)

FEAR OF BICYCLES - experimental/jazz/prog rock/noise-thing. A four-piece comprising of guitar/loops/FX, keyboards/Theremin/FX, bass & drums. All the music is improvised, & can go in any direction, at any given time.....& usually does! (www.myspace,com/fearofbicycles & also at: www.fear-of-bicycles.co.uk)

DISCOGRAPHY:

ONE MORE BITE OF MY HEART (PETE BITE, single, 1984) - playing piano & organ.

BUNGALOW HI (WRECKLESS ERIC - 2004) - 'Same' playing piano; 'Ladypower' playing synth & harmonium; 'Zulus' playing synth & Hammond; 'Local' playing piano, synths & Farfisa Compact; 'Housewives' playing synth.

YOU ARE LISTENING (209 RADIO, various artists - 2005) - 'Awakening' playing Moog Theremin & FX units.

FoB (FEAR OF BICYCLES 2009) - playing on all tracks (keyboards, Moog Theremin, FX & 'rubbish guitar'). CD or downloads available at: www.fear-of-bicycles.co.uk

Hi, I have uploaded a few instrumentals that I can't play, I'm getting someone else to play them for me in the future, but have a listen anyway. Depsite my ineptitude, they make for sort of interesting listening.
Clouds parts 1 and 2 are really difficult for me, I had to miss out a section of part1
Wild Horses is a bit like the go team
And Cowboy anthem is my attempt at a telstar type thing!

I love Whole Wide World! It's on my Spotify playlist. The proclaimers covered it recently but it didn't have the charm of the original.

Thanks Graham, glad you liked it! Yeah it's probably the weirdest song I've written so far, don't know how I came up with it. It just started off as two simple chords E and G.
