Graham Jones / The Amber Sleep's Friend Space (Top 4)
hey graham, nice one. thanks, I've been ploughing a lonely furrow as they say, I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do but I keep ending up with music. I see you are now a composer for films, well that's my dream but although I am inspired by that kind of music (I guess it's the emotion and feeling involved, as I'm currently obesessed with Jocelyn Pook's contributions to Eyes Wide Shut), nothing has come up. I'm going to send some of my stuff to Tony Visconti's son, Morgan, who's scoring incidental music for TV, as my grandparents know his mother, Mary Hopkin who sang on Blade Runner's soundtrack. Insanity. Look, seriously, thanks for the compliment, I love opinions and I'm glad of any, especially yourself, please do not be shy. I'm rather involved with Strap the Button these days, Martenot and drawn on tash and Accordion mostly (living out my Yann Tiersen fantasies) and it's Workhouse Festival this weekend, so all is mostly well, except personally. Anyway, please, keep in touch, and if you can ever help, I hope you can, please do. Anyway, lovely music, if short. I'm loving only 2 of Vespertine's songs, one of them reminds you of them (An Echo, A Stain) and Naval Officer off Eyes Wide Shut reminds me of "Severed", I've worked on a similar idea with only penny whistles, pitch shifters, recorders and piano. Anyway, this is too long. take care.
