Who I'd like to meet:
ABOUT ME
My name is Rob. My surname varies. Sometimes it's Grain Division. Sometimes it's Silverlode. Sometimes it's FX. Ocassionally it's Rowley. I am 26. Soon to be 27. I am engaged to the girl I live with, Cristina. I am from Leeds, always have been. She is from Spain. I love music and images and I play in Leeds skiffle-prog-pop band [ Silverlode ]. We're ace! My real job is in TV and film doing Special Effects.... fire, explosions, rain, snow, stunts, etc. [ SFX website ]. I love to arrange events and meet interesting people and so I run [ The Grain Division ].
GRAIN DIVISION EVENTS
The Grain Division runs regular, well-organised live music promotions at an increasing number of respected venues. Regular slots available to quality live acts at Carpe Diem, Leeds (every 3rd Saturday), Sandinista, Leeds (every 1st Wednesday) and also quarterly events at Delius, Bradford, The Owl, Rodley and The Library, Leeds. Other services available to bands, venues and other promoters are: Sound Engineering, PA Hire Facility, Band and Artist Bookings and Stage Management.
RADIO STATION AND WEB SITE
Launched in 2003, thegraindivision.com web site has been legally broadcasting the finest mix of 'alternative' and 'interesting' guitar-esque music and more importantly, supporting unsigned and independent music. Demo CDs are always welcome.
GRAIN DIVISION STUDIO
Purpose built soundproof studio and control room with extensive multitrack audio recording operating a Roland VS-2400 digital 24-track through a Mackie desk with Wharfdale monitors.
Comfortable and well-equipped with a range of quality microphones, amplifiers, PA system, keyboards, a baby grand piano, assorted percussion instruments and friendly in-house engineer.
Also available; blackout facilities and a range of lighting effects making it ideal for small film projects and narration as well as music. Situated in Rodley, Leeds.
