Florida-born, Georgia-bred singer, songwriter, musician and raconteur Gram Parsons was among the first, if not the first, to bridge the gap between country and rock in the late 1960s and early ’70s, as a member of The International Submarine Band, The Byrds, and The Flying Burrito Brothers. Then the California-based “Grievous Angel” flew solo, capturing the soul of real country music on two landmark albums, and connecting West Coast redneck rock and the Nashville establishment. Musical protégé and collaborator Emmylou Harris carried his torch by touring and recording with his band, The Fallen Angels. Later generations of artists, from Elvis Costello to R.E.M.’s Peter Buck to the Black Crowes, discovered his legend and recorded his music.

As the first comprehensive Gram Parsons collection, the two-CD Sacred Hearts & Fallen Angels pulls together a recorded legacy previously scattered among multiple labels. Material from Parsons’ ’60s groups, including the unreleased Submarine Band outtake "Knee Deep In The Blues," plus tracks recorded solo and with the Fallen Angels, round out the most complete musical portrait yet of this enigmatic American icon. Whether among Subs, Byrds, or Burritos—or the backing talents of Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt—Parsons rises like a phoenix with each saintly spin of Sacred Hearts.
Gram Parsons The Complete Reprise Sessions
Produced by Emmylou Harris and Rhino's James Austin, the three-CD set is a comprehensive collection of Parsons' legendary recordings for Reprise. Disc one presents his 1973 solo debut, GP, plus seven bonus tracks, including a rare 1973 promo interview. Disc two presents 1974's posthumously released Grievous Angel, along with three bonus tracks, including another revealing interview. Disc three contains seven previously unissued alternate takes from the GP sessions and eight from the Grievous Angel sessions, plus three more solo outtakes released only on A&M's 1976 compilation Sleepless Nights.

Rhino Records is proud to announce a unique partnership with rock 'n' roll photographer Andee Nathanson and Morrison Hotel Gallery that will give fans an opportunity to own rare, intimate photos of iconic recording artist Gram Parsons. Nathanson, a friend of many musicians including, Gram, Donovan, John Phillips, Mick Jagger, was there, camera in hand, immersed in the Los Angeles and London music scenes during the '60s.
She is now, after all these years, making select prints available of Gram Parsons.
Rhino.com will be the exclusive online retailer for this collection of Nathanson's photos of Gram Parsons, and will collaborate with Morrison Hotel Gallery, who will serve as the physical retail outlet. The images are available as archival prints in various sizes and are signed and dated by the photographer. Nathanson's photos of Gram Parsons were kept in her private collection for more than 30 years. In honor of what would have been Parsons' 60th birthday this year, Nathanson has released 10 never-before-seen images along with three pictures previously published in Jessica Hundley's and Polly Parsons'
biography of Parsons, Grievous Angel: An Intimate Biography of Gram Parsons (Thunder's Mouth Press). The photographs being sold were taken between 1968 and 1971 and feature Parsons onstage, playing piano at Marlon Brando's home, and at Venice Beach in 1970. Nathanson (formerly Andee Cohen) is currently working on a book of her archives for early 2008 titled Andee Eye, which will include intimate stories and amazing photos of many iconic artists.
