The 12th Annual Gram Parsons Guitar Pull and Tribute Festival will be held Sept. 17-18-19, 2009 down in Gram's hometown of Waycross, GA. This year's musical event will feature multiple headliners.
Saturday night at the Okefenokee Fairgrounds from 8 pm to 10 pm features the legendary Charlie Louvin, originally with The Louvin Brothers, inspiration to Gram and Emmylou. Closing out this year's Pull will be Athens GA shitkickers Bloodkin.
Also at the Okefenokee Fairgrounds on Friday night, the Master of Space and Time, Leon Russell performs at 10:30. On Friday's bill, at 9 pm, will be Randall Bramblett and Tommy Talton performing a stripped-down acoustic set.
Thursday night starts out at the Waycross College Fine Arts Auditorium and features Ian Dunlop, the original bass player for Gram's International Submarine Band, hosting a Q/A session. Following that will be a raucous Cosmic American Jam down at local juke Cypress Creek Bar featuring Ian performing musically.
Also featured during the 3-day celebration will be Abby Owens, Amanda Lynn Taylor, Ashton Herrin, The Bearfoot Hookers, Brothers Marler, Connor Griffin, Corey Bradley, The Crabgrass Cowboys, David Kraai and The Saddle Tramps, Deepwell, Devils in Disguise, Dixie Wreck, Hayshaker, Hickory Wind, Jack Cadillac, Marlin Brackett, The Modern Eldorados, Quartermoon, Ray Harris, Ross Pead, Sam Hester, The Georgia Pines, The Woodgrains, Tracie Mattox, and Uncle Dave and The Younguns.
