Amazing Jamboree facts
For 24 hours on the jamboree's arrival day, one coach arrived at Hylands Park every two minutes on average.
One roll of toilet paper was used up every minute.
More countries took part in the 21st World Scout Jamboree than in the most recent Olympic Games.
Over 110 tons of meat was eaten during the course of the event.
Approximately 90 tankers of toiletry waste were taken away from the site every day.
Interests? Genealogy, History, Music, TV, and yes... playing on the computer! I also collect old coins. My job and my family are my two loves, not necessarily in that order!
Climb my family tree to visit the The Genealogy of Roger and Cheryl Chatell. Now with pictures!

People often think my musical tastes are a bit strange, or at least confusing! Contrary to my appearance and personality, first and foremost, I love rap and hip-hop. Cheryl and I were just about the only white people at a Public Enemy concert in Providence. I like Jay-Z, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Beyonce, Snoop Dogg, and some Eminem. I love all that old school stuff from the early 1990's like 2Pac, Ice-T, LL, BDP, Will Smith, Ice Cube, Too Short, Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock, and mad props to DMC who started it all for me when I was in elementary school. Other great stuff is freestyle, dance, techno, euro, house, and reggaeton music.
But thanks to Matt once changing all my presets when he was about 13, my second great love is alt rock, with a long list including Creed, Nickelback, Linkin Park, Daughtry, Disturbed, Green Day, Hinder, Three Doors Down, Godsmack, Staind, STP, BNL, Coldplay, Goo Goo Dolls, RHCP, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, Pearl Jam, etc. Check out my bookmarked songs on Pandora.
And emo, electronica, ska, it's all good. Now, I also like soft rock and Top 40, and even throw in a little Jazz and classical... plus everything in between. Love the 80's.
When she was pregnant for Ricky, Cheryl and I saw Celine Dion in Providence in 5th row seats! She made googly eyes at me... I think. Be sure to make sure no other music is playing when clicking my favorite song by my distant cousin...
Now, who can translate "Dans un Autre Monde?" Ou est mes autre Francais amies?
I am a closet fan of Culture Club, Michael Jackson, and George Michael, plus less embarrassing stuff like Beastie Boys and Def Lepard! Just about the only music I can't get into is Country. Sorry Connecticut, all your country stations just isn't doing it for me!
A Scout is Helpful, you know.
Movies
Sci-Fi and Comedy. Can't stand chick flicks or horror. Some drama is okay. Star Wars and Star Trek top the list(of course), Transformers, Romeo + Julliet, Independance Day, 2 Fast 2 Furious, An Inconvenient Truth, The Messenger (check it out!), the first Batman, and tons more.

If I could watch anything I want, it would be the West Wing. Educated people on the top of their game moving fast to make good changes for something they are passionate about and believe in.
Lost is good, but only on DVD... I would jump off a bridge if I had to watch that crazy show on TV. The Simpsons, but not the early seasons. Where did MST3K and Beavis and Butthead go? And Knight Rider would be great too. Used to watch Law and Order alot in the late 90's at 3am when working at the BACC... I try to catch SVU when I can, only because Ice-T makes that show awesome! Made is good... 'cause I too want to be made! Voyager, DS9, Enterprise... in that order. I like Little House, the Hx channel, Discovery Channel, TLC, A&E, MTV, VH1, PBS, and even the Wx Channel sometimes!

A defining moment in my life.
My beautiful bride Cheryl and I have been married for ten years, and dating for seventeen. We have three children, Ricky, Jason, and Alexandra! I'm a former Rhode Islander, and since leaving in 2005, I have never looked back! I work for the Boy Scouts of America, and I love my job. I get kids into the program, raise the dollars, and recruit volunteers to reach the potential that they did not know they had!
IM me at GrandHomme26.

I loved the donut cake. It was great. That bear cake took 2 days to make...it was horrible, but came out really cute. Thanks for all the comments. I am really proud of AJ and my dad for making that cake and not killing each other in the process
THAT was a FAST response! You must agree that Obama looks more like a carrot than man of African decent! I would hate to think it's his makeup artist using "orange" as a base!
