Using the the most basic of tools - a humble two dollar 0.5mm mechanical pencil, an eraser or two and some paper. Grandpa Shea creates emotive dark detailed imagery. His raw and gritty untraced work, utilizes the texture of black pencil line, never trying to capture photo-realism. Producing single image illustrations and sequential story, the work is figurative, surreal and at times bordering on the bizarre. Held together by a common theme, in each series the artwork is a constant struggle between mess and control.

I do try earnestly to reply to everyone. I can however get a little swamped at times, which can make it hard to keep track of who I have actually replied to and who I have just thought about replying to... Please try and refrain from going overboard with your html comments... A web optimized image or two is ok but please no streaming music (and especially nothing set to AUTO PLAY!), flash videos (vimeo, myspace, youtube and such), image slideshows, large GIF animations, JPEGs or PNGs not properly optimized for the web. Multiply such overloaded, bandwidth hungry comments by twently-five and it can really slowdown myspace for everyone.
