Born and raised in Brooklyn, the youngest of six was drawn to the many
elements of Hip-Hop. Whether it was scratching on his father’s
turntable at 10, to DJ-ing house party, rhyming and writing “graff” as a teen, it’s
why Grand Royal calls Hip-Hop his “Source of Salvation.” He is sure to
become the hottest producer/rapper to burst out of New York.
Producing since 2002, GR had worked with many up-and-coming artists
and even ghost-produced a couple of street classics. With his album in
the works, he’s ready to show that he’s not only a beat maker, but a
versatile MC. His slick flow and punch lines over his trademark chop
samples are the styles he will bring to the table this year.
2006 was rough as Grand Royal fell upon difficult times watching
friends and business opportunities disappear after announcing he was
gay. But this studio bum believes that his hard work and determination
will open new doors and others will follow. With nothing to hide, this
Kings County juggernaut is ready to show and prove while inserting a
new Pride into both the hip hop and Gay Communities.
