In addition to our custom amps, we offer several services to the discriminating player. We've listed some of them below. Contact us if you have something in mind not listed on this page.
PCB -> Hand-Wired
We can gut PCB (Printed Circuit Board) amps and turn them into hand-wired boutique amps. In other words, install the components the manufacturer should have used, but didn't in order to undercut the competition's manufacturing costs and/or mass produce their product.
Amp Repair & Restoration
Cap Jobs, Bias Work, Resurrections & more
We can fix it! We do cap jobs, bias work for new tubes, and resurrections on amps that have died. We have brought several old amps back from the dead and can do the same for you. We can restore previously modded vintage amps back to their vintage specs. We also don't endorse people who mod vintage amps unless they are doing so only to repair it.
Kit Building
You buy it, We build it
Have an amp you are GASing to own, but can't afford the real thing? Now you can own your very own clone! If you would like to buy a kit, but are not comfortable with the risks of building it yourself, send it to us (or have it drop-shipped) and we will do it for you at a very reasonable cost. We build all kinds of amps and can surely figure yours into the equation. We will deliver the same guaranteed build quality found in our own custom amps. See the links page for a few suggestions for where to get a good kit. Most kit builds will cost about $400-500. A rough estimate is 10-12 hours of build and test time.
Hot Rodding & Tone Shaping
We design and build custom amps and use that knowledge to modify existing amps to improve/change their tone and/or add more gain (or decrease it if that's your thing). If you have an amp you would like to mod, we can probably do it. Just don't ask us to mod a vintage amp. We frown upon that sort of activity. If really need a "hot-rodded amp" please consider selling your vintage amp intact, and having the exact amp you want custom built by us (or by one of our many competitors). The collectors will thank you!
Custom Head Cabinets
Have a new amp build but don't have a cabinet (head case) to put it in? Send us your requirements and measurements and we can custom build you a standard or a "one-of-a-kind" cabinet. There are many different colors of tolex to choose from, as well as hardware, baffle materials, etc.
Pricing and Shipping terms
Service/mod/repair work is $40 per hour with a 1/2 hour minimum. Most service work only takes 1-2 hours. Custom build work is billed at the same rate. Please do not ask us to rush our work to cut costs! Both safety and reliability are huge factors for us... and should be for you too!
