Grannysmith hat nichts mit Äpfeln zu tun, ausser dass die Jungs sauer werden, wenn man sie darauf anspricht. Die Band wurde 1999 gegründet und widmete sich von Anfang an dem Melodic-Punkrock. Zwei Gitarren, zwei Gesänge, Bass und Schlagzeug - die ideale Punkrock Besetzung, die ab und zu von einem Saxophon aufgelockert wird. Auf kleinen Lokalbühnen im Oberwallis aufgewachsen, erfolgte schnell einmal der Sprung über die hohen Berge und die Kantonsgrenze hinaus.
Das in Stuttgart produzierte Debütalbum "First Drop" wurde 2004 unter einem von Kumpels gegründeten Label Namens Fasttone Records herausgegeben. Darauf befinden sich 16 sehr abwechslungsreiche Songs. Das Album wurde mit Freude von den Zuhörern aufgenommen und bekam auf Anhieb sehr gute Kritik auf nationaler Ebene. Live gab es Grannysmith 2004/05 auf verschiedensten Bühnen in der Schweiz un Deutschland zu sehen. Unter anderem spielten sie am "Southside Festival", "Zeltfestival Konstanz", Openair Gampel und dem Greenfield Festival. Diese Zeit brachte der noch jungen Combo viel Sicherheit und Erfahrung. Als Support-Act der amerikanischen Punkrockgrössen Bad Religion und Lagwagon in der Schweiz, dürfte sich Grannysmith endgültig in den Gehörgängen einiger Zuhörer festgekrallt haben.
Anfang 2006 nahmen die Jungs ihr zweites Album „Friendly Fire“ auf, welches wiederum in Stuttgart unter hervorragenden Bedingungen produziert wurde. 17 Songs voller power - vom Pogotrack bis zur Ballade ist alles dabei.

grannysmith has nothing to do with apples (as long you don't mention these ugly fruits, otherwise the guys turn really sour). The band was founded in 1999. Eversince they're playing melodic punkrock. Two guitars, two vocals, one bass and drums - the perfect punkrock set-up which sometimes gets disturbed by the nasty saxophone. Making first experiences on local stages, grannysmith soon crossed state borders and exposed their sound to a broader audience.
The first album "First Drop" was produced in Stuttgart (Germany) and released on a little label called "Fasttone Records" founded by some buddies. It contains 16 songs of various styles. The album evoked a lot of positive feedback and got several nice reviews in national magazins and webzines. 2004/05 grannysmith played on different big stages and festivals (f. ex. the "Southside Festival", "Zeltfestival Konstanz", "Openair Gampel" and the "Greenfield Festival"). In this periode the young combo gained a lot of experience and self-confidence. As supporting-act for united state's first class punkrockers "bad religion" and ""Lagwagon" in switzerland they finally reached big respect amongst national reviewers.
In 2006 the guys recorded and released their second album "Friendly Fire", which was produced under excellent conditions in Stuttgart (Germany) again. 17 songs loaded with punkrock-power - ranging from pogotracks to ballads.
