New to the land of stand up comedy in it's own right, GS is not a stranger to goofing around on stage even if it was in the context of playing bass and singing in the band Toupé.
Taking the first step out on to the comedy stage in Aug 2006 it became apparent to him that he was going to be a slower comic than the usual quickfire guys. Ideas, absurdities and the illogic of the world drive Grant to try an challenge people.
A review of GS: Compelling and funny, it is hard not to warm to him despite his harsh, cutting observations on pretty much everyone! Coming on like the afterbirth of Bill Hicks twisted love child with Frank Zappa, Grant Sharkey provokes you, pokes fun at you and teases you to fight back (or at least go home and rethink your life!). The reason he gets away with it is due mainly to his unique delivery and his fallible tendency to drift into a loveable Tommy Cooper style idiot!
Genius or Idiot? Gendiot I suppose!

Have been feeling a tad guilty of late for negelcting our pals on myspace - things have been pretty darn busy this end what with the album release and beginning writing and recording a new album (plus trying to keep the wolf from the door - yeah - we're typical skint indie musos on that front) However - things this side of the screen are good and looking positive...I just hope the case is the same on your side of the screen. We have a couple of new tracks on the jukebox - including a mix we did for fellow labelmate rev spook - if you get a chance - either check it out on our myspace page...or at www. myspace. com/heartfuct
Hope things are well with you and the cosmic forces of whatever guides the universe are currently running in your favour - basically just thought we'd drop by and say 'ello'.
Keep in touch and keep us in the loop!
Much love

i adored it..very diff. to get the image of a certain oversized comdeian out of my mind, as the narrative (for all intensive..) seemed to be coming from YOU
