Sounds Like
Hmmm, tough to say myself. Other people have commented that my songs have sounded like Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, and John Mellencamp (and one person said The Clash!), so that should give you a rough idea.
Funny though, I thought I just sounded like me... :)
I'm never sure what to write in the bio section. So I'll keep it short and sweet!
I grew up in South Jersey, and even though I live in PA now I still have New Jersey in my blood. (I'm still hoping for a cure...!) I feel lyrics are my strong point, as I'm not a great guitarist by any means. Nonetheless I get by, and luckily have some talented friends to help out: my step-bro Don, who is a fantastic keyboard player, my best buddy Charlie, who plays a great guitar and has picked up a bass and mandolin to join me on my occasional forays onto the stage, and the new guy Ken on drums, who has given our music a much needed kick in the ass. I write about whatever happens to be bouncing around my head at the moment; sometimes sad stuff, sometimes happy, sometimes goofy, sometimes angry, but always interesting.
I really enjoy performing on the stage, even when I flub something. It's just a cool vibe, and when you can really get a song across to the crowd there is nothing like it. I enjoy open mics also, as I not only get to play but also hear other musicians do their thing.
So thats me and my music in a nutshell. I hope that you find something you enjoy in my songs, as thats what its all about.

Thanks for being a friend to New Social Voyeurs! You are awesome and good things will happen to you, I just know it! Peace and love many times over. Let’s get the good karma really going by you now being a friend to someone in need! There is a suicide epidemic going on! Just say something nice to help someone feel less alone. Help them to get help. And pass this forward to three more people, just do your little bit of good stuff today. The good vibes you send will reverberate in the cosmos and come right back to you, multiplied in massive amounts of sweetness and kindness (and maybe some good luck as well)!
This is the brand spanking new video for “Go”, the new suicide prevention song from New Social Voyeurs.
any pictures where i'm not intoxicated?? what kind of college student would i be if there was a picture of me sober... i think i am in one of the old ones where i'm playing guitar... mainly because i couldn't get my hands on any back then... ROCK ON!
Yes, my standards must be pretty low... Ha! I hope you're doing well. I'd definitely love to come see you guys embarrass yourselves :-) just kidding! It would be fun to hear you guys. Let me know when you're playing in the area.
Hey Grant - me too, such an odd twist of fate! I had been looking forward to it! I hope to be able to come back soon and maybe I'll see you then. Glad it went well, though! Libby
You are a great songwriter/performer and a great gentleman. Both qualities stand out equally in the light. I have also always admired how you have introduced your songs and speak over the mic; you have great confidence. The only thing I don't like about you is that you look nowhere near 39!! ... Seriously though, you are a class act and your music sweetened The Fig on its vine. See you next time.
Your set was extremely well done and we are so glad you played for us at The Fig. The room still echoes with your songs and we are now afraid to change the wallpaper, for fear that we might accidentally get rid of one of your songs... OK, this is a stupidly written MySpace comment, but we really, REALLY, REALLY love your music and look forward to your next Starving Artists at The Fig appearance!
Ahhhh, Vick the Hooch. Haven't seen her in a while. You guys had a great set as well. That first song you guys played was awesome. Thanks for checking us out and staying late.
Happy New Year Grant enjoying all the new recordings yeh, Lights of Philadelphia- great (maybe we can still get that CD of Philly songs together this year!!) Wishing all the best
