Hi Grant! I'm heading to Local 506 to hear 4 groups tommorow night, two of them new to me. When I listened to one of them, Thoughtspeak (http://www.myspace.com/thoughtspeak), their first song, "Wherever You Are", sounded so much like a song you could have written! I wondered if your brother, Ben (?), is still in the area and if he knows the musicians of thoughtspeak. (I'd imagined they could have been influenced by listening to Ben's brother's music.)
Anyway, this was also a reminder to drop by your page and take a listen to your pieces (just starting them now. Eyes to Wonder = nice!). Not having heard from you in ages, I'd forgotten to stop by.
Hope all's good and getting even better and better! Greetings and good wishes from Chapel Hill.
hmm i think im just going to wait till the album gets leaked onto the web and then download the crap out of it!! And then i will make cheap copies of it and sell it in Mexico as a hip new Mexican pop/rap debut from the band Shakespearea la Gangstera.
Will my students like it...are you kidding me?? I teach Shakespeare for two different classes, and a lot of them are aspiring musicians. They'll love it. I can't wait to play it for them. Gimme!! :)
hey, that track sounds great! cool arrangement. you record it all yourself? where's riley these days? yea, i'm enjoying LA so far. i like it just as much as nyc. you're thinking of coming out here?! cool!
You didn't mention it, but what a great idea...it's so YOU. I really liked the song. Very pretty and soothing, but not in a predictable way. So original. And yes, I think it could be a great teaching tool for upper grades - and a wonderful way to expose kids to different art forms at the same time. So great, Grant! Thanks for sharing!
The year is coming to a close...but not quick enough! The last 5 weeks are going to draaaaag on. But then I will be free (at least temporarily) and it will be fabulous. :)
I love the new song! Everything is going well on my end... painting, loving, laughing and dreaming. I might make a move to the east coast soon... watch out New York! :)
The new song is stunning. Beautiful lyrics. There really is something about the way your voice combines with your guitar that just kind of shatters whatever wall I have up at that moment. Thank you for that :)
thanks grant! the girl singing with me is gaby moreno, a singer/songwriter out here in LA. you ever been out to LA before? how are the studies going? jeremy
i love the new songs. man, you could melt butter with that voice. is that Pepé on strings? i love your use of ambient sounds, that's cool! ______________________ thanks for reposting Save Her. that song still messes me up in good&bad ways.
hey grantasia the tunes are excellent. Moving lyrics, you sounded good live also. Grats to you and bro. hope all is well wherever you are at the moment.
