Sounds Like
A retro sound reminiscent of a classic 50's blues musician with a rock and roll edge
Granvil’s sound is like a cross between John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Vaughn and an undiscovered 50’s Bluesman. Granvil's history in music goes back to his early years growing up in a music-loving family of both amateur and professional musicians. Granvil took up the guitar and took off from there playing the local music scene. His interest and ability grew throughout his time in the U.S. Air Force which eventually brought him to the San Antonio community of musicians. Granvil was influenced in his taste and appreciation of music by his uncle, Chuck Poynter, who was a professional guitar player in Texas and Arkansas and played at Floore's Country Store. Granvil's love of the Blues has grown through the years. He played with various local bands and is now working with his own band of talented musicians. Gilbert " Big Daddy" Gonzales is the band's bad ass drummer and percussionist extraordinaire. Bass is covered by Bobby "The Monster" Cook the rock steady bass player with the monster amp Audience reaction to this talented group is immediate and enthusiastic. They always get folks up and dancing, having a great time. As one musical friend put it “When I hear you play, you make a bad day into a good one".
This group truly puts soul into their playing and genuinely enjoy sharing what they do
