There are many artists that influence Me in Many different ways. There's so many artists out there that are doing the same old shit, you know those Emcee's that try their hardest to sound like Someone else because they want to be popular. Or just only talk about the superficial shallow topics they know are accepted in the mainstream top 40 audience. The put on these fronts of some "boss hog, big thuggin" lifestyle, But the REAL see through your Facade. Quit FRONTING. We See Right Through YOU! If it were possible all those people would make me want to be different, but its not possible because Different is Something that I am naturally. Some artists got nothing but shallow empty words, that i am influenced to Not be like them, some are so Fake that i feel obligated to point it out to others.
Then on the other hand there are all the talented artists and musicians that got skills and Keep it real without even Trying. That inspire's Me, but it doesn't inspire Me to Be like them. It Inspires Me to see others out their speaking the truth, speaking their mind, and staying True to what they feel in their Heart and Standing for something Respectable. I have no respect for Self Serving Artists that are only out for money, respect and pu$$y. If you need a record deal to get any of that, i feel sorry for You. To all of You that Have Redeemable qualities about You, don't let the haters, fakers, doubters and debaters get ya down. they're just mad because You are Something they don't have the strength or courage to Be.......AND THATS REAL! Stay Up!
Yo! This is Graft, The Hip Hop Artist, Political Activist, Father, Poet, Lyricist, Man and Human Being If you give a damn (YES I Know it's an Eyedea line, BIG SHOTS OUT!). I've been making Hip Hop since about 1999 but over the last 3 years I have been dedicating a lot more time to making music. I like to keep it Diverse and Speak on many different topics ranging from personal to social and political commentary and opinion. As an artist and vocalist i try to experiment around with as many different instrumental mediums that i can to see what different outcomes can come from that.
