Grateful Dread Radio

WANTED: ..SUPPORTING MEMBERS.. Grateful Dread Public Radio is Internet public radio -- a community-service project of The Armchair Activist/All Facts & Opinions dedicated to showcasing and celebrating musical diversity, giving exposure to independent artists, encouraging and organizing citizen action for a better world, giving voice to progressive ideals, and disseminating vital news, views and information that many mainstream and independent outlets won't. The aim isn't to make a profit -- veteran journalist - broadcaster - activist has been running the station and effort for the sole purpose of community service since 1996. But to move forward and indeed ensure the survival of the station and its important mission, we need the support of the community, or more specifically, the financial support of listeners around the globe.

We ask you to join us and become a Supporting Member of Grateful Dread Public Radio. Supporting Members are those who make a recurring financial of $5 or more per month or make in-kind contribution(s) to GDPR/The Armchair Activist. Asking for support is a route we take simply because station management can not afford to do this alone.

Supporting Members, upon remuneration, join The List, GDPR's e-list for its members. Through The List, you'll get featured artist info and links, activism news, community-building discussion, action resources and alerts, the monthly station newsletter, and exclusive access to member-only promotions, giveaways, alerts and more.

And Grateful Dread Public Radio does important work: organizing activist and service projects; informing the public about issues mainstream media routinely ignores, presenting alternate points of view; serving as an openly antiwar, progressive presence that speaks out directly and subtly for our issues; showcasing the beauty of diversity and tolerance by broadcasting diverse sounds and ideas from artists of varying genres and just-folks around the globe; and giving much-needed exposure to independent artists.

We want GDR to be the best community-service radio station on the 'Net or the dial. We really believe we can make a positive difference in the world through our work. But to be successful, we need your listenership (and tell your friends!), your awareness and action, and your financial support.

If you wish to make a one-time ($100 or more) or recurring contribution ($5 or more/month) to the effort and are able, I encourage you to do so. (Can't afford it or want to do in-kind? Write me; we'll work out something - and we are in need of equipment and tech help.) Also, we are looking for underwriters, sponsors, and partners (radio pros, DJs, etc.) to increase the number of voices heard on our "broadcast waves." Write to me; I'll be happy -- hell, grateful -- to discuss it with you. (Contributions are NOT tax-deductible because of ARMACT's political activism.)

JOIN THE COMMUNITY! For more info, email us.

NEWS/TALK OFFERINGS: In keeping with our mission, we are introducing more news/talk programming. We love the music [unsigned artists - write us for submission info!], but the news and informational shows are great too. Open your mind and take a listen. New original stuff is in the works -- the GDR News Team is getting organized with bureaus on both US coasts, and we are working on tech upgrades that will enable our production capabilities to expand expontentially.
