In the winter of 2002; John, Ralph, and Rogelio joined together to form what is now known as Grave Defier. Marked by turmoil, the band almost didnt survive due to several member and genre changes. After several months, the band was complete and ready to start writing new material. Fransisco (Pancho) was now on bass and Robert was the new additional guitarist. In only three weeks of playing with the new line up, Grave Defier had the privilege to play at The Way Outs annual talent show. The congregation was perplexed by the sound but gave Grave Defier all respect and support for their mission. After the talent show, Grave Defier was asked to open up for The Horsemen of The Apocalypse at a venue in San Bernardino. H.O.A. was impressed with Grave Defier and became partner bands. Grave Defier has been busy ever since, and has no intent of slowing down.
Grave Defiers mission is to spread the real truth of the only God, Jesus Christ. This world has hindered the name of Jesus through unfaithfulness, greed, perversion, and egotism. Jesus was a rebel who fought against the hypocrisy of religious leaders of His time, and defended the: poor, lame, blind, lepers, thieves, prostitutes, depressed, and even the demon possessed! It is Jesus who has inspired us to do what we do, and we do our best to be like Him.
