Biografía
.. .. .... .. GraVil are a two piece outfit based in London, UK. The band is comprised of vocalist Gra and Scandinavian multi instrumentalist Vil. .... The Anglo Scandinavian duo started writing and recording music in their own studio for their own ears and not for any form of fame, drugs or women only for the enjoyment of making music and metal. The band then made their selves into a comic book band, the reasons for this were few in number but most highly ranking was just because they enjoy being comic book characters..... The beginning was a slow process, but in 2008 things started picking up speed for GraVil and eventually they recorded enough tracks and had been given enough praise that they started a myspace music page. It was due to the phenomenal feedback from the public and industry professionals on this popular networking site that GraVil released a 4 track e.p. called "Something Worth Chasing". .... The CD was released to rave media reviews, and more surprisingly was given away for free to the first 500 myspace friends that replied to a bulletin. Shortly after the E.P. had sold out of the original 1,500 that had been replicated and the band/distributors BTTC Records were forced to re-print the cd. .... 2009 will see the bands second release "The Age Of Corruption", the new e.p. takes a turn to the heavier side of metal rather than the bands more melodic first release. .... .. .. ...... .. .. .."It shouldn't really work with the more atmospheric keyboards, but despite my own reservations, I do admire Gravil for producing something that I can't compare to anyone else. Gravil have merged two styles which shouldn't necessarily work, yet they do here.".... - Steve Green (Live4metal)...... "The twosome seems to know what they are doing.".... - fyu.be...... "Resonating evil vocals, thundering instrumentation and grade A riffs, an excellent blend if ever there was one. A very promising start from this mysterious pair"....9/10 - John Consterdine (www.hardrockhouse.co.uk)...... "A masterpiece compared to other band's debuts.".... - www.ironsites.at...... "As a debut, this is very promising; it will be interesting to watch the evolution of this band. Worth chasing? Definitely."....8/10 - Steve Cowan (www.Metal-Discovery.com)...... "GraVil presents us with an EP of smartly-produced symphonic metal. the music is sharp, catchy and well-played"....7/10 - Chris Mole (Terrorizer Magazine)...... "Heavy blown thudding starts on my speakers, great impact with the lead guitar which enthralls me to listen".... - Fonda (www.nbzine.cjb.net)...... "When dazzling talent mixes with a seemingly totally different type of great talent, you suddenly understand that such an astonishing hybrid sound that cannot be ignored for long... There are so many things that make up the sound of GraVil. There is time changes, amalgamation of musical diversity that spans so many genres of Metal and then top it all off with these strong aggression infused vocals that pound out that end up making GraVil that sort of band that can be truly described as impressive as hell.".... - Daryl Adolph (www.metalbite.com)...... "This is a stunningly impressive debut EP. It's a CD that will get your mouth watering and have you begging to the gods and goddesses of Metal that the band will release a full length album in the near future".... - Lou (www.louciferspeaks.com)........ ...... .. .."This 5 track follow up whets the appetite nicely with Vil's brutalising tech metal wizardry sounding even more fierce and Gra delivering soul shivering shrieks that risks bothering the neighbours dog. This pair might just have something special lined up when that debut drops.".... KKK! - David McLaughlin, (Kerrang! Magazine)...... "Mixing up all things Chimaira and Dark Tranquility with some meaty riffs and a little Cradle Of Filth the result is very much The Black Dahlia Murder, all rounded, throughly enjoyable, energetic songs. Youll undoubtedly be hearing a lot more of these guys soon. This is good stuff." .... 7/10 - Ken McGrath, (Rocksound Magazine) ...... "This melodic piles, or pyre, of bile-riddled melodic thrash is of a stupendously high order and that’s about the least of it. They dare deviate from the deathprint and rattle around with undertones of metalcore and even hip-hop style delivery amid the usual dismembering barrage of rhythmic spasms enough to make you leave limbs in the room and be a viable sick note from work, just do something useful with the time".... - Stu Gibson, (www.sleazegrinder.blogspot.com)...... "Death Metal that is both melodic and accessible GraVil have already drawn favourable comparisons with Cradle of Filth, Meshuggah and Pantera but they have a unique approach that could well see them carve out their own niche as they progress. Colossal riffs compete for your attention with pummelling rhythms and a ferocious vocal delivery that is rounded out by sustained melodic passages".... - Dean Pedley, (www.seaoftranquility.org)...... "It is more than just scary when you realize just how good these guys are... and the addition of the others just makes them what I have coined 'sonically lethal'. I rated GraVil very high for all of the right reasons... GraVil deserves every last one of those points. Raise the horns, the metal army's elite just has gotten a new commander in chief coming into the picture... and their out to make you believe and make you throw that salute. Now I have this brand new CD in my hot hands... and I am as exited as I felt when I had heard my first Iron Maiden gig so long ago now.".... 9.7/10 - JD Wheels, (www.Metalbite.com)...... "There are so many different styles on here ranging from Melodic Death and Thrash, to Hardcore and Metalcore and yet they still manage to put their own stamp on things and inject originality throughout. They’re obviously talented musicians but they keep things fairly simple, and that is the beauty of it … simple but catchy as hell".... - Chris Rogers (www.metal-mayhem.co.uk)...... "Eschewing the American influences a little now, they are creating a sound that is truly their own. The symphonic underpinnings are crafted with more thought this time round, and serve to highlight the song's strengths, rather than to juxtapose the heavy stylings of the tracks themselves.".... 9/10 - Steve Cowan (www.metal-discovery.com)...... "Intense metal with harsh vocals and beefy riffs akin to Cradle Of Filth and Pantera. Really good solid songs that has some good choppy guitar and drums from the 2 piece".... - AF, Classic Rock Society Magazine.... .... .. ...... .... .. .. .......... .. .. .. .. .. ........................ .. ........ .. .. .... ...... ...... ...... ...... ...... ...... .. .......... ...... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ......follow GraVil_Music at http://twitter.com...... .. ................ ...... ...... ...... ...... ...... ...... ...... ...... ........URL.... www.myspace.com/gravil.... ..Contact band....gravilmanagement@hotmail.co.uk.... ..Business Representation....Clive Leighton..Public-I music events and media..M: 07882352742.. e: GraVil@public-I.org.uk.. www.public-I.org.uk.... ..Press....Roland Hyams..e: roland@workhardpr.com.... ..Layout......Carlcass...... ..Label.... .............. .......... .. -
