Of Chicago's Recording Studios, Gravity has distinguished itself as the busiest, best sounding Rock Studio in the midwest. Record Producers and Recording Engineers from the area as well as the best from the coasts have sought out Gravity for it's mix of the best Vintage gear and the latest Protools HD systems. These Producers include owner Doug McBride, staff producer/ engineers Mark Berlin, George Balogi, and Dave Rieley as well as Gravity Alumni Manny Sanchez, Russell Prince, Mike Hari, Jay Marino, Sean O'Keefe, Bill Stevenson, and Jim O'Rourke. Focusing on Indie Rock, Pop Punk, Nu Metal, Power Pop, and Alt Country, the list of bands recently recording at the studio include: Fall Out Boy, Rise Against, Plain White T's, Filligar, Story of The Year, Kill Hannah, Umphrey's McGee, The Walkmen, Racheal Yamagata, Dashboard Confessional, Less Than Jake, The Von Bondies, Secret Machines, Motion City Soundtrack, The Sounds, Ben Kweller, Anne Harris, Riddlin Kids, and Rod Stewart as well as our legendary clients Veruca Salt, Bob Mould and the Smashing Pumpkins. All of the major labels have brought work to the studio seeking the sound quality of our Neve 5088 and Studer 827 2" analog machine. Recently Dreamworks, Columbia Records, Warner, and Victory Records have booked sizable stretches of time. However, Gravity remains devoted to the development of Chicago's local bands who utilize our new B studio to cut costs and still enjoy our large selection of mic pre's, mics, guitars, and amps.
