Graydon James is the kind of person who still appreciates the value of a good mix tape. He owns many things, one of which is a typewriter. He also has a good head of hair on him. He can see, literally, millions of different colours all at once. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Graydon has written songs about ninjas, about walking around corners and falling in love, about leaving a small town, about being nervous, about grabbing your coat and being late, about putting two keys in an envelope, about grandmothers, about accidents with the human heart, about getting dropkicked, about talking to yourself, about lying to avoid work, about making sure, and about sitting in cars listening to music. He's not the best thing that ever happened in the history of the world, but he thinks that you are.
Laura Spink provides a powerful harmony vocal, a sweet melodica solo, and a sassy tambourine all with charm and what passes these days for "grace". She has pitch-perfect high-fiving abilities, and can wear a dress like nobody's business. She is also co-author of the word "awesome".
Noel Di Tosto owns seven different hands, some with upwards of twelve fingers, and he employs them in his skills with stringed instruments and the trumpet. When he's not blowing his horn, he's wrangling a billion notes all at once from a variety of classical, acoustic, and electric guitars, his trusty mandolin, or his rusty banjo. He's as Italian as apple pie, and twice as delicious.
Shawn Jurek is the nineteenth Beatle, and can slide his hands up and down the fretboard of a bass guitar like a man with well-moisturized hands. He can sing a blue streak as well, and provides ion-powered counterpoint to Laura's lush harmonies. When he's not rocking the balls off the universe, Shawn is a mastering engineer with a resume twice as comfortable as his beard.
Mike Paddags' drumming has been known to cause tsunamis in Japan, where he is referred to as "Man-zilla". His heart has a secret fifth chamber where he stores energy that is released as either a heartfelt gaze of overpowering emotion, or as a perfectly synchronized series of drum-based seismic events. He sings as well, and people seem to enjoy that.
Taken singly, these folks are pretty hep. Together, they generate music that they hope you like and will share with your friends, because it's pretty gosh-darn catchy and sounds awful good. Thanks for listening.
